Thought these newer styles from wrangler might be a more modern fit, nope. If you're a fan of how your grandpas jeans fit you, you'll love these. Tight in the waiste, saggy in the butt and wide in the thighs and knees, wear these out for a shuffle board game and you'll have to beat old Agnes off with your cane. They seemed well made.

Way back pre-1980, Wrangler jeans came in 3 fits: "Slim", "Regular", and "Husky". But as fashions evolved, "Slim" disappeared and "Husky" was replaced by "Relaxed Fit", so aging Boomers with middle-age spread could pretend they still could "still fit in the size I wore in high school". But those of us who preferred a more form-fitting cut were out of luck. I've spent decades being annoyed by the bagginess of so-called "Regular Fit" jeans. Then, while browsing online I stumbled upon listings for Wrangler "Retro Slim Fit" jeans. Could it really be true? They were a bit pricier than the "Regular Fit", but I took the chance and ordered a pair. When they arrived and I tried them on, I'm not exaggerating when I say I was never happier with any clothing purchase I've ever made! They fit exactly as I was hoping they would. No excess fabric bunching up under my seat and thighs when I sit, but still plenty of freedom of movement. The waistband is noticeably lower than the "regular", but rides in a more natural comfortable position. Comparative measurement to the "regular" shows the "slim" to be 2 inches shorter in zipper length, measured from base to waist button. Now that I've found these, I'm never buying any other cut of jeans EVER! 1 Year Later UPDATE: I've now had 5 pairs of these for a little over a year now, and have experienced none of the quality problems other reviewers claim to have experienced. Though I have had low quality experiences with the so-called "Regular Fit" Wranglers, which are made from fabric noticibly thinner and lighter weight than the "Retro-Slim" series. The 5th pocket on "Regular Fit" is so narrow as to be virtually unusable. Also not a problem with the heavier weight better-fitted "Retro" line.

In just 4 days of light work, the back pocket stitching starting ripping and just getting in and out of my truck in 10 hours the rip was this big (shown in pictures). These have to be some sort of mock up wrangler or wrangler quality has gone down hill. Either way i wasted my money on these and I’m not happy.

Love the look, and they feel like great quality. I’m 6ft tall, 190lbs, trim and fit with muscular legs. I first ordered 33/34 and they were loose at the waste and thighs, orders 32/34 and it was a perfect fit. I normally wear 33/34 in old navy brand if that helps?!

What do they consider slim these days? I'm 6'1" and fit, these jeans are so baggy I feel like I should be in a rap video when I wear them. I purchased my normal size of 31x38, but feel like I'm in a pair of 33's. Since I'm tired of sending things back to Amazon, I'll keep them to work in the garage, but would never wear them out of the house.

You can’t go wrong with Wrangler. I don’t like baggy pants and these fit as expected. Slim with the right amount of room. I have a little extra in the seat area and the retro fit gives the room my rear end needs...and looks good. I have multiple pairs of these Wranglers and they are all I wear. Very sturdy working on the ranch and look good going out and they fit great over my cowboy boots.

The retro stitching really knocks it out of the park. Boot cut seems to fall right on whatever shoes I wear. Bought 33" and they fit pretty great. I'm losing a bit more weight so I'll be buying another pair in 31" Also the coin pocket is nice and deep and fits a pocket knife ect.

Bought these for my boyfriend and they him perfectly. However he did get longer ones at first, when he didn't need them longer and those fit but in the crotch they were way too long so we returned those and bought them in his normal size and those were the ones that fit perfectly!
