While not flimsy, it is not rugged - the handles on the top cabinet are held only by self-tapping bolts into the sheet metal rather than being bolted into something more substantial. The drawer surfaces wouldn't stand up to heavy tools; if you want it to last you'll want the kinds of plastic divider trays to separate and protect the surfaces. In all, for something like an electronics work area or for fine woodworking, modelmaking, luthier, gunsmithing or hobbyist work, this is very suitable but if you expect to hold heavy tools you'll have to spend a lot more. ... show more

I'm a fabricator / welder and I'm using this for hand tools , specialty tools and weld hoods. At work. Its pretty solid , the drawers all work smooth and storage capacity is as expected for the price . It holds everything I need to do my job and with a few modifications Its above and beyond for workability and storage. Even added a lockable bar for the bottom half and push pull bars on the sides. I read some of the other reviews and this is my opinion. It is a good purchase for at home use. If I was a mechanic with expensive tools, it wouldn't be. Not extremely secure. Yes, it had a ding in one of the drawers, but who cares because it is not the center piece of my living room. The packaging for this toolbox is the most assinine design I have ever seen and I am 49 years old. I don't say it lightly. The upper toolbox comes inside the bottom toolbox for shipping. That's fine but in order for it to be removed, one must remove the side panel of the lower toolbox AND remove all the screws holding the upper toolbox inside the lower box. Ours came to us with one screw big stripped necessitating the purchase of a screw extractor kit. I said over and over as I attempted to unbox it as I uncovered one unnecessary packing method after another that they had to have won a darwin award for this design. Completely unnecessary & time-consuming to unpackage. Review of the sturdiness of the toolbox overall will need to wait. I'm on day 3 of attempting to remove the unnecessary and stripped screw. ... show more
