That said, I purchased this one because I need a slightly bigger mat for a few larger projects. The description states that this is a 12x18 inch mat when in reality it is an 11x17 inch mat surface. I use this cutting mat exactly one time with very light pressure. I don't know if you can see it in the pictures but it did leave several cuts in the mat. They have not "healed". That being said, it's a double-sided mat with angle guides that only cost $10. I will happily try to cut it to shreds with projects before replacing it. ... show more

I needed to cover the surface of a drawing table. I didn't read where it says the actual dimensions are not 24"X36", but slightly larger. I considered cutting it to size, but in the end I was able to make it work without having to do that. A very nice work surface. Happy I got it.
