We were tired of our twenty year old HenryDon sofa chairs swiveling. I tried to place screws to prevent the swivel mechanism from swiveling but the screws did not last very long. I finally had a lightbulb idea to just get some sofa chair legs that were higher than the swivel mechanism on bottom of the 2 sofa chairs. I had to drill holes in the base wood under the chair with 5/8” drill, then install the parts. I used a skinny drill to start the holes for the 3 smaller screws per leg. To prevent sliding on the tile floor, I cut some thin rug padding to fit onto the slider pads that were included in each box. NOTE…you will need an Allen wrench to tighten the big bolt. The Allen wrench was not included in the kits. I don’t recall the size as I had a multi size Allen wrench tool. I LOVE these wooden legs and I am so proud I did this myself! Grandmothers rock! I did have to drill a larger hole, but after reading the reviews, that was expected. My Ashley chaise sofa came with 3 inch legs. Sat to close to the floor. With bad knees. I needed something higher and still be able to move the furniture to clean the hard wood floors. These came with press on felt pads. My only wish is that they were chunky like the 3 inch. But no body makes those. I love them! ... show more

Bought a ottoman a couple of years ago that wasn't used because our feet were too high, these brought the ottoman down to the proper height, and the new legs match the color of our brown ottoman color better! The bolts were the proper thread to match the old implanted nuts.

Hi, Had to drill a 1/2 hole into bottom of sofa. Old hole was a little smaller from the old cracked plastic legs. Then installed new 1/2" metal base with phillips bit/drill and 3 included screws. Then installed the leg with my own hex wrench. Turned out very solid and nice! Very happy.
