Amazon recommended a size 6.5 for me and said they ran large but these were quite narrow and I couldn't even get my foot into the opening so they are going back. Funny because several of the reviews said they ran large but that wasn't my experience. Leopard fabric was super cute and the sole seemed very cushy. I will reorder in a larger size. 😊 ... show more

Size: 6.5 Color: Full Black
I wear between a 6.5 and 7 in most shoes, but usually a 7 in slip-on vans because I find them harder to break in for some reason and usually get a blister on the back of my heal if I get them in a 6.5. So with these, after reading the reviews and most of them saying they run big and they sized down an entire shoe size, I decided to get a 6. That was a mistake because they were way too tight. (And also I have a regular foot width, not wide. A lot of reviews said these ran wide but they are more narrow than my real vans.) It was frustrating because I also had to wait for them for a weirdly long time. So I decided to return them for a 6.5 since it wasn’t like I couldn’t get my foot into the 6 at all, but the 6.5 was only a little better. I honestly could have just gotten a 7 and probably been pretty comfortable. The 6.5 is ok enough for me to keep, I’m just hoping to break them in quickly and hope that helps. They aren’t loose enough to be able to slip my foot in quickly, I have to sit down and actually work my foot in. (I wear them with socks but not thick ones.) I only bought these to have something to slip on quickly to go walk my dog. I will say for the positive they are pretty cushiony compared to real vans, so that will be a plus for dog walking. Update: These lasted about 4 1/2 months of wearing 1-2 times a day to walk my dog 20-30 minutes until I got a hole in the bottom of one of them. So they didn’t hold up as long as I hoped. I decided to buy another pair though and got the black with white bottoms instead of the all black. Those feel a little different but maybe it’s because the other ones had gotten broken in and I got used to them. Update 2/18/22: I just received a second pair; this time in gray. I love these sneakers. As far as sizing, I again ordered a size 6 and they are perfect. I also ordered a size six in the lace-up sneaker that has the rubber over the toe box and they also fit perfectly even though in other shoes I wear a size 7-7.5. And as a reminder to anyone thinking about these…they have zero padding in the insole just like they were made when we wore them as little kids. So, if you need an arch support or extra padding you will need to insert an orthotic. I use an orthotic in mine and can wear them every day all day. The construction hasn’t changed from last year; they are well made. And the price is excellent. I normally wear a size 7.5 in Asics and Sketchers. But I insert an arch support in the Sketcher to make them even more comfy and because they slip. I have to do the same in some size 7 Sketchers. But some Sketchers in a size 7 are a tad too short. I have a longer 2nd toe that hits the front of the toe box; hence, the need for a 7.5 with the additional insole added. I ordered this shoe in a 7 based on previous reviews and thought if I add an insole with an arch It would take care of the size, cushion and comfort. I was totally wrong and need a size 6. Should have done that in the first place according to other reviews. I sent these back and reorder in the 6. Dropped off the return at a local Kohl’s which was very easy and convenient. Thanks Amazon for making returns easy and painless. The construction of the shoe appears very well done. The stitching is strong and straight. The design is perfect if you want the look of a Van but don’t want to pay the price. I tried on a pair of Vans and these feel pretty much the same and also like a Keds. There isn't an arch support and there is also no cushion. But they are cute and I know now the size and how to remedy the comfort so I will order again. I reorder these in a size 6. They fit more like my Sketcher slide on loafers (similar design but not really that nostalgic look) in a 7.5. I added an arch support and a foam insole that I purchased on Amazon of course. The shoe fits perfect now. Without the added arch and insole they are okay as would any shoe be for someone needing that extra arch. They aren’t really as heavy as one would think; and as any shoe a bit stiff at first but the more you wear the rubber gives and loosens up as they should. Cute! But runs large. Many slip ons I will order sz 8 but these are a bit wide plus I went down to a 7 1/2. Comfortable toe room. Just a tad large but will wear with no show socks to take up the "slack"! If I went down to a 7 I think my toes may rub. What I did not like is the scratchiness on the seams etc inside. Good thing for the roominess to wear the socks! There is no way I could wear these shoes without them. Because of the rubbing/scratchiness I had fears of blisters appearing. This probably doesn’t make much sense, but there are little things that I think should be brought out.. I do like them. And are a cute addition to my casual look ... show more
