I actually have 2 of these and they are great. I purchased 1several years ago, and another last year. I guess this would be considered an entry level watch winder, but I'm really happy with the quality. It has 3 basic functions; on/off, 12 hour delay, and rotation direction. When it's on, the winder operates on a timer, and the rotating mechanism will run for a certain amount of time and then turn itself off to prevent over-winding the watch. I have it on whenever the watch is in there, and it keeps the watch wound with no issues. The winder is extremely quiet and reliable, and can handle most watch sizes and weights. I have 1 timepiece that I only wear for special occasions. It's a large (48mm), heavy chronograph. It's in the winder for months at a time, with the winder always in the 'on' position. It keeps the watch wound whenever I decide to wear it, and has been problem free for the last several years. I use the other winder for my daily work watch. I can put the watch in before bed, turn on the winder, and have a full power reserve by morning. The outside material seems to be an imitation leather, but it doesn't look overly cheap. I have not had any issues with the material ripping or coming loose. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a well-built, no-frills winder.

This is my first Wolf winder. I am totally impressed. Very well made to the last detail. The only way to tell it is on is when the light blinks. Other than that it is completely quiet. The packaging and the shipment box is like it was coming from Italy. Nicely packaged and enclosed with a cloth bag. The timers and the ability to change the direction of the rotation or to have winder do it automatically shows how well thought out it is. The electronics within the winder are of the highest quality, as it is reliable, durable, and efficient. An example of its efficiency, in the four years of use, 24/7, with battery use only I have only changed the batteries twice. I have no reservations of purchasing any product from Wolf. On a side note, I wanted to purchase extra winder cuffs and had a question about size. I emailed their customer service and received a response within two (2) hours, which by todays standard is unheard of. I ordered them and received a shipping notification the next day and the product by the end of the week. This was with standard shipping. Wolf is a model company for what every company should be.

This is my first winder. Did a ton of research and hands down the Wolf Design had all the positives I was looking for. It arrived in a very tasteful presentation. The winder was in a felt bag with the Wolf logo printed on it. Directions were easy to follow. I cannot attest to the durability as of yet but I will repost if any issues arise. It is completely silent while in operation. You could put it right next to your bed and not hear a whisper. You can see the attention to detail in the quality of the winder housing construction and cover workmanship. Metal parts, clasp, knobs and hinges. Beautiful to look at. The winder is turning a very heavy automatic and the bracelet just clears the sides of the tube. This is one of the features important to me that these are designed to wind heavier watches. Plus, using batteries makes locating it in my closet just perfect.

Agree with most other reviews. This is a bit more expensive than some of the other offerings but I wanted to go with a company (Wolf) with a history of quality. I think this is their lowest end winder. Even trying to hear this motor with my ear up close, I can't. Just no noise. The blinking light on the other hand is fairly easy to see. I don't think you can disable that so if that sort of thing bothers you, especially at night, you'll need to cover this unit with a towel or something. Some things to note that reveal this is their entry level unit. The hinge on the front door is at the bottom. When you open the front, the front "door" will lift the unit up off the table surface. Not a problem but perhaps a design flaw. You can't (at least I can't) tell where you are in the process. It just starts up and goes, then stops for a while then resumes. It's a winding process that you have little control over. The block that holds the watch will work easily with most watches. If you have a robust band, bracelet, or band clasp it gets a little trickier on larger diver watches to load the watch. All mine fit, but some just barely. I think my biggest watch is a 45mm case with a very stout diver band and clasp. It's pushing this holder to the max to accept that watch. Once the holder is in, there seems to be no problem winding the big watch, I just have to fiddle with it a bit to get it in. I may buy the larger version of this winder that tells you how many winds are left. Hopefully that larger holder will be easier to load, and I can be more standardized in the daily windings. Some higher end watch companies cite (declining) power reserve as an important early warning indicator that servicing is needed. That coupled with daily accuracy figures. To use power or energy reserve times would require a standardized winding process that only a mechanical winder could provide. But with this basic unit, even that might be difficult since again, it's not easy to tell where you are in the winding process. I've only had this winder for about 2 months so I can't comment at all on longevity. I'm depending on the Wolf reputation to provide that.
