went together pretty easily. the little allen wrench is tough to use in spots. It was packaged very well so be sure to take everything out of the box, including the styrofoam packing pieces. That's where I found the directions. I liked it so much that I ordered another one to put on the other side of my buffet table. It feels nice and study and looks good. I would say it has a hint of a reddish color rather than Dark Expresso. It doesnt match the expresso buffet table I got from a different seller years ago but the second one I bought will tie it all in nicely. The wine bottles feel like they are secure. The wine glasses fit good unless you have a narrow base on stemware...once I moved the glass to a different location it was in there good. I did have one piece that was missing a second hole to secure the stem ware slide. Right now I tightened up the one screw and it should hold. If not, I'll hit it with glue. If the second unit has the same issue, then I'll contact the manufacture to let them know of the defect. ... show more

I bought this used but it came just like new. Here’s pros and cons. Pro: Pretty sturdy, even the backboard that’s normally super flimsy on similar products, but it’s decently thick (still not a piece of wood but it’s better than others I’ve bought on Amazon). It came with a strap to prevent a fall but I didn’t need it. Assembly directions are good. Lastly, looks great, has a real solid wood look to it. Con: It is a pain to assemble. There are a couple spots that are almost impossible to screw tightly. The hex screws they have are pretty good but the driver never goes in perfectly. Overall: Good unit, I would recommend anyone to get it. It’s sturdy and looks and feel like real wood. ... show more

I'm thrilled with this....I ordered this piece from Amazon, and 2 of the complimentary pieces from another retailer. They were packed well, are solid and sturdy, and look much pricier than they were. They were fairly easy to assemble, with pretty clear directions. I did not have any pieces missing. The Allen wrench that comes with it is slightly challenging to use, as it's curved and some of the screws are in pretty tight spots. I'd recommend seeing if you can find a straight Allen wrench. I was originally planning on assembling these pieces alone, but thank goodness I asked a friend to help. While it likely could have been done alone, it was much easier with two people. It was a bit of a pain to assemble (a good rule to follow when assembling anything is to not tighten down the bolts until all the bolts are in place). The machining is good and all the holes were all drilled perfectly, which is great considering the price. The item itself is fine and looks good. But the build for this is ridiculous. I'm no novice, I have plenty of experience putting together furniture. The problem is you need teeny hands and a LOT of patience to blindly wiggle the Allen wrench into the screw hold and then inch it in. The big problem is that the screws are inside the piece, a design strategy to not have them noticeable on the outside, I get. But makes for a just insanely difficult build if you have even average-sized hands. I was tempted to just drill my own holes on the outside, screw then from the side, and then cover with a screw cap cover, it was that frustrating. If you can get it together, it will be fine. But overall, I wouldn't recommend because of the difficulty. ... show more

Of the the three units, this one is a tie for the hardest to put together. If you have put together complex Ikea furniture, this will be a breeze. If a 5 piece book case gives you fits, avoid this. I found it pretty easy, most of the screws can be out in by a power driver. Some hints to make it easier: 1. The instructions tell you to wait to put the backs in place until you have the first three shelves attached to the first side. Put them in ad a "dry fit" to make sure as you tighten down the shelves the slots align with the back. 2. Use a power drill with a chuck set low to start to put as many of the screws in as you can to save you forearm. 3. Follow the instructions. 3.1 Put a furniture pad (not included) on the legs if you plan to put it on hard wood. 4. Clean up and fill the cabinet with wine. 5. Drink a glass of wine and enjoy your new cabinet. (Note: the grid is 1/4 inch plywood, it looks and works fine, you are not storing transmissions in there.) ... show more

I thought I knew what I was paying for when I purchased this. Particle board that was quick to put together I knew it wasn't going to be great craftsmanship as it was a kit. I was shocked still with the quality of the product. Holes not drilled correctly or completely off line, screws that were different sizes, and pieces that weren't the same length. I couldn't return it as I've already was working on it before I fully realized. I ended up having to drill new holes and using different screws to get it to hold together. Once put together it seems decently sturdy enough to hold 20 bottles of wine but we'll see over time as the holders were slotted together and thin. Product finish looks good and came packaged extremely well. I could of received a lemon and this slipped through the cracks but that is why quality control exists even with kit products. ... show more
