Description

Immerse yourself in the intriguing world of the gaseous planet Celus, where buoyant gas keeps everything afloat in the skies. Without it, the city would plummet into the scalding core of the planet. You are the captain of a ship, and your job is to fly the skies of Celus to hunt Cresters and bring gas back to the city. You will need to hire crew workers from the trading post—each crew member is specialized, so choose wisely! To become the most notorious captain on the planet, you and your crew must successfully traverse the atmospheric pressure differences and vigorous winds, make good use of stops at the floating trade post, and face battles with other ships and captains. It’s an engaging strategy game that challenges players to: Master the skies by harnessing the power of ever-changing winds and get ahead of opponents by using the wind in creative and clever ways; Build their engine and hire a crew of specialists and gather supplies to evolve the ship throughout the game, optimizing their choice strategy; Pick up and deliver—hunt leviathans and bring them back to the floating city, avoiding opponents who attempt to get in the way; Give orders to the crew in order to maximize production—manage crew morality, storage space and supply reserves to lead the ship to victory! For 1 to 5 players, ages 14+.

  • Fun Game
I really like this game. It’s got fun dynamics and a lot of different ways to play.

  • Lots of value, not the greatest quality.
I found this game at a steep discount, and I believe I know why. The quality of manufacture is quite poor- but the gameplay itself has the potential of being great; if this game is polished and released as a “finished” product. To start off; I found this for around $25 on sale so I’m not too disappointed for that money spent. However, the lack of quality really annoyed me, to the point of wanting write a review so others can have the proper expectations. The copy I received had multiple flaws that aren’t game breaking, but are enough to warrant note. The cards included are very poor quality. Mine came with indents that appear as of a small child bit one a couple times, they are curved (if you play MTG, it’s similar to the way some foil cards bend) and even a simple shuffle creases them. The minis are really cool, original, and there’s a lot of them. However all of them had minor flaws that just should be fixed. One of the main ships is separated at the casting seam so that it is unusable without repair. The cloud bases are all uneven, the clear color is strangely discolored, one appears as if someone attempted to paint it but then wiped the paint off. The paint on the minis is appreciated but spotty and frankly just bad. The dyed minis of a similar color almost looks like other colors due to differences. I believe I may have gotten a play tested or demo copy but all pieces and the box came in plastic wrapping. The player cards, packaging, cards, and instruction manual all contain tons of misprints, misalignments, and missing words. Again perhaps a minor annoyance but in at least one case a missing word in the rules caused major confusion on a play. Also worth mentioning there are some pretty glaring omissions of rules that I think should be included but I won’t make opinion calls. Aside from these factors the gameplay could use some minor polish and was overall fun and made my group really think about plays in the cooperative mode which we were able to win once and lost once. Fairly well balanced but I just don’t get the impression this game is a finished product. ... show more

  • Good game — ordered two — one was shipped poorly — games still amazing tho.
The game itself is very good. The atmosphere it has is very nice supported with great artwork. I cant wait to put a few more hrs of playtime into it. Kind of unfortunate: I have ordered two at a very nice price. They both came, one in good condition one in not such a good condition. They were shipped separately (idk why) and one came in a plastic bag so all the corners of the game’s box were messed up a little and one came in a paper box which did a much better job of protecting the game. ... show more

  • Windward
This game is awesome. I just learn how to play, but so difficult tactical game. So good game, but better game if you can buy at lower price (discount).

  • Great bang for your buck!
This game is really amazing. Highly replayable with multiple game modes to play. There are lots of pieces and parts and seems very intense at first but after a learning curve it's really simple and easy to pick up. My family and friends have played it a few times are not bored of it yet. With the replayability I think it's worth the money. There are few pieces that are not so fitted to their stands so you might have to super glue a few pieces but outside of that the game looks amazing and adds elements that I haven't seen in other board games. All in all worth it to play with the family and friends ... show more

  • Not that great and rules are horrible
First off, this game is hard to learn. The instructions are poorly made and things aren't where they should be. They need to rewrite the rulebook. Now to my review. I'm a solo player and this game to me is just meh. You earn gas in the game which is spent to arm yourself for battle, problem is that gas is so easy to get that by the time you leave port and fight you're unstoppable. Also there isn't much in the game to make it repayable. Same few cards over and over again in the supply deck and only two crew members per slot to choose from. There's just not enough variety. I couldn't imagine this being that great with other players either. It's your basic battle and conquer game type but with a lot less strategy than others. It's as strategic as checkers. The only strategy is run away until you're powerful enough to fight. I was hoping for a nice difficult long lasting strategy game. The Game doesn't even take long to play. ... show more

  • I purchased this for my hard-to-get-gifts-for stepfather.
My stepfather has always been picky about gifts, but he likes boardgames which challenge his brain and make him think. I purchased this as a Father's Day gift for him, and he loves it! Every time I see him he's talking about this Windward board game. It's all Greek to me, but I've never seen him rave about something like this before. ... show more

  • Great fun game
This is a fun game once you figure out the rules. Rule book isn’t the greatest but the other components are high quality and great design. The game itself is kinda opennworld card drafting , worker placement with lots of ways to win and lots of ways to lose. You can be a pirate or a gas collector or a scientist and tag the animals the others will hunt. ... show more
