When we decided to repaint our vinyl shutters and removed them from the brick exterior we found that the existing shutter pegs were pretty much unusable after they were removed. So we priced replacement shutter plugs at the local home improvement stores and were stunned to realize that the cost per dozen would add over $40 to our painting project. Very pleased to find a pack of 60 Window Pro shutter plugs for a reasonable price on Amazon. Plus they were available in various colors to match our new paint. No touch up! The plugs are heavy duty with vinyl ribbing on each plug to "lock" it into place once it's inserted into hole. The 5/8 inch peg top covers the existing hole in each shutter nicely with no concerns about loosening or pulling through the shutter on windy days. These were a little longer than those replacing, but I just snipped them a little shorter and no issue at all. Just make sure check your size.

If you have plastic shutter fasteners/screws, you know they probably started snapping in the middle after about 10 years of baking in the sun every day.... day after day. These make a perfect replacement. They're easy to use and appear to be as durable or possibly slightly more durable than the originals that came with our shutters. We bought extras to use as we need them, too. You get a lot for your money with these. These worked perfectly for our shutters!!! They're also very easy to paint. (if you need to paint them) And, the paint appears to be adhering very well. ... show more

They are easy to put in. But if you bought them to replace old ones it's quite difficult getting the old spikes out to be able to put these in.

We took down old faded shutters and repainted them black and weren’t able to reuse the old shutter pegs... Lowes only had packs of 10 and we needed 140! So I was happy to find package with more in them!! Great quality too.
