  • Eye supplment from Whole Foods
Recommended doses of lutein and zeaxanthin in eye supplements typically range from 5–10 mg per day for lutein and 1–2 mg per day for zeaxanthin. This supplement has more than that. In addition, it has a lot of omega 3. Taking this is basically equivalent to taking both fish oil and eye supplement. The softgels are big but still easy to swallow. They don't have bad fishy smell but frankly speaking, I don't feel the orange flavor either. Overall it is a nice eye supplement from a good brand name. I do feel the effect because my vision is not so blurry after long screen time with my computer. With this, you don't need to take additional fish oil. I recommend the product. ... show more

  • Perfectly good, but no discernible lemon flavor
First, although these are a bit on the large side, I found them smooth and easy to swallow. However, if you are one of those people who have difficulty swallowing pills and capsules, you would probably like these better if they were half the size and twice the number. While it is obviously not possible to know whether these really promote eye health, I can attest to the fact that I didn’t experience any fishy taste afterwards, unlike some competing products. Considering the amount of omega-3, these contain, that is a pretty good characteristic. I don’t taste any lemon, but I suppose I can live with that. If the price doesn’t bother you, give them a try! ... show more

  • Great ingredients, comparable value, trusted name
I am supposed to take an AREDS 2 supplement but the brand my doc gave me a sample of had titanium dioxide in it which I did not want to ingest, and it did not have any omegas which from what I have read and my own experience helps a lot with eye health. So I have been shopping around and I came across this. I already have zinc gummies, and this has a high amount of omegas most which are DHA which is the one that is supposed to help with retina health. This 365 also has FloraGLO which is the same amount of lutein and zeaxanthin as was used in the studies that showed their efficacy in protecting eyes from screen usage. I have tried lutein and zeaxanthin in a gummy and they tasted terrible so I am glad to get these nutrients hidden in a soft gel. All this is missing really then is the vitamin e and c both of which are in my multi. So, got my eyes covered now. These soft gels are pretty large but I still don’t have a problem swallowing them but others may. I have not had any fishy burps yet from these so that is also a plus. As to value this is pretty comparable to other eye health products but this 365 has way more omegas and also is from a trusted brand. Very happy with this product. ... show more

  • pretty easy to swallow despite the enormous size of the gels
These are the real deal 365 Whole Foods Market supplements and I generally trust this brand. I am in my 40s and everyone in my household is starting to get concerns about their eyes, whether it is age related lens hardening or other eye changes. I do not see any reason not to do everything you can to take care of your eyes, and the fish oil in these cannot hurt in general either. These pills are easy enough to swallow when you take them with water. It is weird that they advertise flavoring with these and have it listed in the ingredients, but I hear that fish oil can be nasty when you burp it up, so presumably the lemon is to make your burps tasted better. I have not tasted the lemon at all yet. Who knows what the long term efficacy of these will be, but so far I have no real complaints. ... show more

  • Omega 3 Supplement with Eye Health Bonus
I recently started taking a medication that has caused me to experience mildly dry eyes only in the morning when I wake up. I’ve tried preservative free eye drops that were recommended by my eye doctor. They instantly hydrate my eyes and the problem goes away for about 24 hours when I awaken to find my eyes are dry again. I’ve taken them at bedtime to see if that would help me to awaken with more hydrated eyes and that didn’t work either. I’m excited to try Whole Foods 365 Eye Care supplement to find out if the Zeaxanthin and Lutein help with my dry eye symptoms. In addition to the Zeaxanthin and Lutein, to also has Omega-3’s that provides many health benefits as well. The soft gels are supposed to have a lemon scent / flavor but that is not at all noticeable when swallowing. I did not experience any fishy scent or taste either while taking these or after. Whole Foods 365 is a trustworthy brand of supplements, however, after some research, I find that the pricing of this supplement is a little high if your primary need is just Zeaxanthin and Lutein. However, I you also need to take an Omega-3 supplement as well that makes this product somewhat more competitive in price. ... show more

  • Large capsules, no fish burps
I ordered these "Eye Care" capsules because they had a good daily serving of fish oil. Additionally, they also have a bit more Lutein & Zeaxanthin than I have seen recommended. So, I think they are a a great way to get plenty of eye health nutrients in one daily dose. The capsules are large but easy to swallow because they are long but not too wide. Even though they are labeled as lemon flavored, I do not detect any odor or flavor when I take them. They are gentle on my stomach. I have never had any "fish burps" or other indigestion after taking these for several days in a row. ... show more

  • Omega 3 plus lutein/zeaxanthin in one.
This supplement for eye care has both omega 3 fatty acids and lutein/zeaxanthin. These are very important nutrients for dry eyes, floaters, and preventing glaucoma and macular degeneration. They do not contain other important eye nutrients like vitamin A, C, E, or zinc. Therefore, this is best added to a good multivitamin. However, I do t like that the amount of EPA is very low, especially compared to the DHA. Most of my omega supplements have more EPA, which is what I’ve read is recommended for eye health especially. I also don’t care for the other ingredients like gelatin, beeswax, and carob. The 2 pills a day are quite large as well. The lutein and zeaxanthin are comparable to many AREDS formulas. It’s an okay choice if you want to get omegas and AREDS in one product. ... show more

  • 365. Let’s admit, it’s amazing.
Whole Foods always makes great products. These vitamins are no exception. Love the quality, love that they are gluten-free.
