I've read some of the criticism for this unit for not being rugged enough. It is true that this is not like a beefy hotel cart with heavy gauge brass components. This unit is light. However, for the low price, I found it to be very good. The trick is that these pieces - especially the plastic base - require the metal poles to be FULLY INSERTED into their respective inputs. It is hard to gauge how deep these pieces should go - but the deeper they go, the more secure the connections and the stronger the structure. I don't plan on disassembling it and I even think there may be a couple of spots where I could drill and add screws to further prevent any slippage of the components. The unit feels pretty stable and I can load it with clothes. I especially appreciate the telescoping feature that lets me raise and lower the upper bar. The double bar setup makes this unit hold a lot of clothes. I had some doubts about the small pieces that telescope out from the top but I find them useful as well. You do have to be careful as those two poles have no mechanism to keep them from simply falling out if you pull them out too far. I marked the "end" with a sharpie so I don't keep pulling it out of the main structure. I don't expect this unit to last forever but as long as I handle it with care, it should serve its purpose just fine. For the cost, I consider this a very nicely made item. ... show more

If this cost 70 dollars I would not be leaving it a 5 star review. That being said, for the price, this unit is suprisingly nice. First off, the pieces fit very snugly together, some of the pieces would seem like they were in all the way, but come to find out there's another half inch they are supposed to go down and it requires some extra umph. When inserting a piece into another, I would position the perpendicular piece on the ground and use my body weight to push down on the cylinder as vertically as possible to reduce the chance of bending the pipe. This worked great for me. After it was all assembled, it looks really nice and with the wheels on it rolls very smoothly. However, this is a very light stand, so either figure out a way to weigh down the bottom some to add some stability, or make sure you don't load clothing on it in a super lopsided fashion. I filled the top rack with maybe a dozen assorted shirts/sweatshirts and the bottom with maybe 6 pairs of wet jeans, and the unit holds up fine; the extra weight adds a lot to the stability. I would guess most of the negative reviews are due to improper assembly, like I said, getting the pieces completely seated in each joint took more force than I imagined, and might not have even been noticed if it wasn't for the opposing side always going in way further. I guess they could also have some pretty big manufacturing variances in quality at this price point, so if yours is crooked and you've carefully assembled it, then it's probably the project, but make sure you've seated everything completely first. ... show more

Bought after a recommendation. My friend loves hers at home. I bought mine for use at a food pantry to hang empty grocery bags for volunteers to shop for our clients. Friend has had her for years but it just couldn’t handle the wear & tear & I need a new one after less than a year. Love the rollers size etc but it’s just not durable enough. ... show more

This item has no support for the upright posts. I had intended to use the rack for event table linen storage and liked the fact that the rack could be shortened or raised. I could only hang 10 hangers before the entire rack started to lean to the side and I thought the plastic base would snap. Unless you just need to hang a couple items or intend sandwich each end with something stable, look for something more sturdy because this one cannot hold any weight. ... show more

There are a lot of reviews that indicate that it's not stable or falls over. What I found is that if you actually make sure each of the pieces are truly seated into position, that is actually very stable for a normal amount of clothing. When I first assembled it, I did notice it leaning after a day, but realized that it was "user error" - basically I had not made sure the rods were fully in place. I used a hammer to help with the pressure (tap gently......a mallet is probably better, but I was careful with gentle, but firm hammer taps, and it worked), and actually heard the small "pop" when the rod was fully seated into position. Once that was done, the rack is sturdy, and works as expected. It's super easy to put together, and overall a good value for the price. ... show more
