  • fits fred flintstone feet
Size: 8 Wide Color: W81 | Beige
i have been wearing these for a month now and im ready to review I purchased these as a keds type shoe to wear for the summer..keds don't fit me but i like the look with shorts and sometimes you just don't want to wear a running sneaker or sandal sizing - this review is for the widefit whiten which i am grateful for its availability. i wear on average a 7.5or 8 shoe with a 2E width...my foot is very wide with short stubby toes...at the base of the toes - 9.8 cm wide...that's 3.85"...so size wise i'm equivalent to 10 width size 7.5 length...very hard for me to find any kind of shoe. I found these and decided to give them a try and i have to say these are very doable. the size 8 fits my toes with room to spare and i can say that i never realized how nice it is for my toes to just stick out straight without being pinched together. even after a month i still am aware of the freedom my toes feel when i wear these. Fit- over all i would say these fit true to size...i ordered the size based on width, so i went with the 8...lengthwise, they're probably a bit long...not enough to trip over, and when i walk i don't notice it, but the weave is denser along the first inch closest to the seams and when i wiggle my toes the nails hit that boundary which feels weird to me. i just want to be clear that this doesn't impact walking, its only something i notice when i wiggle my toes. On the good side it points to a longer lasting shoe. Width wise the fabric has no stretch so if the shoes fit with a thin sock don't expect to them to stretch out and wear thicker socks...or suffer the consequences. I tried to wear a thick running sock and after 20 min started to get pins and needles and took the socks off. One down side...(minus one star) others have mentioned this and i wholeheartedly agree that the seam at the pinky toe is totally annoying. i notice it when i first put them on and notice it when i am sitting...not so much when i am walking. I think its two fold, one, the seam makes it much thinker and less flexible at that spot and two the edge of the fabric can rub if you have sensitive toes. Sometimes it bothers me and sometimes it doesn't. I'm thinking about figuring out if i can iron on a patch to smooth it out but probably wont...seems like a lot of work for the return of investment. Support - funny that even without any sort of built in support my foot feels well supported. the Sole is flat...i repeat FLAT... but the way the shoe is shaped when i tie the laces my arch feels cradled. Now if you have arch needs these shoes will not give you that kind of support...even so i do feel that my foot is strong and grounded when wearing these. side note and good to knows 1. these wash well...i washed them in cold water and left them to dry overnight...came out looking like new 2. yes the liner will come out with your foot when you take them off... 3. if you are used to a lot of cushioning or this is your first time wearing a "barefoot" shoe, your ankle and feet WILL FEEL SORE for a while. In most cases, and this is what i have realized after watching many videos about the whole concept is that your feet are adjusting to a different more natural way of walking. your toes will be used to propel you forward, your arch will actually hold your foot in place and your ankle will start accommodating for a more natural gate. Your forefoot will hit the ground before your heel as you wear them more...and all of those weakness that sneakers have been adjusting for you will be realized as soreness until you balance out. 4. you might not want to go back to regular shoes...yes, they look like duck feet in comparison, but its not really that bad in reality and the comfort outweighs the look ... show more

  • A Shoe Designed for Feet
Size: 11 Wide Color: W81 | Grey Brown
Summary — These shoes are very comfortable in terms of fit and allow for a lot of range of motion compared to common shoes. They breathe real well and the wide toe box really helps let your toes be free to provide you the support you need. Appearance and design are utilitarian and modest, but they're shoes and the grey ones look surprisingly nice with a pair of skinny jeans (for you millennials out there). Expanded — Now, bear in mind, these are not luxury comfort shoes designed to make you feel like you're walking on clouds. There is some cushion in the sole and heel but you'll definitely notice you've been walking around in these after awhile, especially on hard surfaces like concrete. It is recommended that you make an additional investment to get insoles with a little more support if you're not used to these types of shoes. Do know that these shoes provide comfort in a different way and it's allowing your feet to naturally provide support for you while standing, walking, running, and balancing. So, at first, you might notice your feet feel more "worn out" than usual and it's quite frankly you might be utilizing muscles you never thought you had. Context — I discovered this type of shoe and line of shoes through a video essay featuring Jake Leary on YouTube. After some health issues, I've haven't been working on my feet nearly as much and I started to notice that, over time, it was becoming more challenging to find comfortable shoes. I spent more time out of shoes than the average person because it was frankly just more comfortable. As it turns out, Jake makes a good point: Shoes aren't usually foot shaped. I thought my "wide feet" were hereditary or some kind of sign of neglect, but as it turns out it's just the "natural shape" of the foot. Since I've been not wearing shoes for so long, my feet have basically been returning to natural form. If you want to learn more about shoes, feet, and why these particular types of shoes are special just go to YouTube and look up "You're Ruining Your Feet" by Jake Leary! ... show more

  • These fixed my feet!
Size: 10 Wide Color: W81 | Black Gum
First off, I sized up and wished I didn't. I always wore a 9-9.5 and bought a 10, but they're a little too big. Even so, they're wearable, so I said f*** it. Been wearing them since spring, and my feet have never been better!! I was shocked when I noticed my arches don't collapse anymore! I also realized how I didn't have symptoms of plantar fasciitis anymore, either. Because I always wore these when I went for daily walks, my feet were able to move as they should and gained strength in muscles that were never able to work properly before because of how other shoes pinched my toes and messed up the weight distribution, etc. I can stand for a long time now without my feet hurting! I can walk a long time now without my feet hurting! It's amazing and appalling at the same time because it opened my eyes to how the shoe industry totally f***s up everyone's feet! I am very grateful I found these shoes. They've held up great. Highly recommend. The end. ... show more

  • Best things that ever happened to my feet
Size: 9 Wide Color: W81 | Light Blue
Let's just say that I got my bones from my father. I have suffered, and I mean suffered, problems from shoes that never fit. My little toes are perpendicular to toes #4 because of the shoes I had to wear for most of my life. (I think all men should have to spend at least a day walking in 4 inch heels.) Now being retired, I usually wear flip-flops any time I can. If you have had that problem from an over large foot and misplaced toes, try these sneakers. I can't tell you about the support, I have not had the luxury to have an adequate reference. But your toes will be ecstatic ... show more

  • Comfy. Wide but not lengthy toe box
Size: 7 Wide Color: W81 | Brown Gum
Incredibly comfy. My toes feel like they have a purpose when walking in these shoes: not just passengers. No break in period. The sizing I received showed EU 37 not US 7. US 7 always has enough length for my feet. EU 38 is usually too big and EU 37s are occasionally too short. If I had known I was receiving a shoe sized by EU standards, I might have ordered differently. ... show more
