  • Forget the expensive minimalist shoes - save your money and at least try these.
Size: 11 Women/10 Men Color: Grey
I've been an amateur running enthusiast for around 15 years. About 10-years-ago, I made the switch to barefoot (zero-drop) running. I was convinced of the data coming out of places like Harvard and University of New Hampshire. You have to realize that decades of million (and now billion) dollar ad campaigns and athlete sponsorships have muddied the waters of science to sell more sneakers. No running shoe is going to provide as much shock absorption or rebound as my calve muscle. I've run half-marathons on a whim and sustained literally no injuries that I can think of in years of running. Anyway, you're here looking at these so you're probably already onboard or willing to try. I've used several varieties of vibrams for years. They don't hold up. The fit is tough. The toe slots are unnecessary. Just get these. They last, they feel EXACTLY the same as vibrams, and are a fraction of the cost, and already have lasted three times longer. I've got everyone in my family from my younger sister who runs to adopt them to my brother, to my mom who has balance issues and LOVES them. CONS: - They are NOT very breathable. If you run in hot climates, expect your feet to warm up fast and to sweat quite a bit. It seems my feet have adapted after a couple months of use. I hope in future iterations they incorporate something a bit more breathable on the top of the foot. - They might be slightly inefficient at sprinting paces since you can't tighten them down, but they still fit pretty snugly for my needs. Maybe they can widen the toe box slightly which would allow to go a half-size down. In any case they still feel snug like a sock. If you're concerned about efficiency loss I recommend perhaps getting "grip socks" that have rubber grips on the bottom to wear in conjunction with these. - Wash them frequently, for because they're not breathable and dry out they are a bacterial haven and smell quite quickly like a used sock. - The cuff of the sock (the top part above the ankle) loses its elasticity after a couple months of use. Be careful not to over-stretch. Hope they can strengthen this more. - Style: Well, some find them kind of neat and some think they're a little odd. I actually don't mind them but I'm not at the stage of my life where fashion is my priority. Overall assuming they fall within this similar price, I will continue to purchase this product. ... show more

  • Excellent around the house/yard
Size: 12 Women/11 Men Color: Green Black
I bought these "sock/shoes" specifically for use in the house for which they have been wonderful. I have also used them minimally on the patio and around the yard with zero problems. The bottom is 'rubberized' with a very sturdy covering that offers very good protection from uneven surfaces and a level of waterproof protection. The bottom has a very grippy finish so you have little fear of slipping on tile or slick surfaces. The upper portion is a stretchy but strong material that is sock-like but more durable. Personally, I would not go for a wilderness hike or wander into a construction site with these, but I don't believe this is their intended purpose. They are comfortable, fit well (I bought a size up) and provide very good protection for my otherwise 'tender' feet. I will revisit this review with longevity and durability updates as necessary. ... show more

  • Third try is a charm??
Size: 8 Women/7 Men Color: Red Black
I originally purchased a pair of these sock shoes from a company on Amazon by the name of Joomra. WHITIN was stamped big and bold on the sole of those Joomra’s, so I came here and purchased a pair of WHITINS, this review basically covers both of them. And why I came here. Too bad these don’t look as good as the Joomras, they certainly are more comfortable. Update: I did go purchase from the. Company logo on the bottom of these: WHITIN. I found the quality was not on par with these as the rubber has defects that are noticeable. However I am keeping them and returning these. Why? The WHITINS are easier to put on, though I purchased the exact same size, the WHITIN’S run a tad bit larger, making them easier to put on, and they aren’t so tight they become uncomfortable. So WHITIN. Wins. I’m sure they don’t care because they are obviously the same company selling under another name. These, the Joomra, however just look a bit better. I will take comfort over a few flaws in the rubber. I would guess my women’s 8 in WHITIN are closer to 8.5.. Original review: I bought a size 7 women’s. In these Joomra’s. They are really great feeling, the way they “hug” your foot, however they were too short. I returned & re-purchased an 8 women’s, this is where things got wonky. This pair (the 8) has some glue balls rolling around under the ball of my foot, like sand paper, it’s extremely irritating. I found I could barely get my foot through the opening, my ankles are only 9 inches and they were so tight, they hurt the front of my foot where it bends. I have yet another pair on order from the name on the bottom these, WHITIN. I must assume it’s the same company, different name, perhaps I will hit on the perfect pair. I don’t know. These are going back, after I receive the next pair. So hoping these will fit, the length on these 8’s are perfect. I have wide feet, I’m not a barefoot runner, or walker, but I have lived barefoot most of the pandemic. These are so comfy. I bought them for slippers, but ran outside in the snow briefly for a photo shoot. They are super grippy. I can’t wait to try them with my recumbent trike. They make your feet sweat. But the one that didn’t have glue balls rolling around in it was smooth and very comfortable. These are so inexpensive, I may buy at least two pair, so while one is being washed I can wear another. I do have other barefoot shoes, but none are as comfortable as these. ... show more
