  • Solid choice
Size: 10 Color: Yellow
My first pair of zero drop/barefoot shoes and my feet are singing thanks on the daily. My toes are finally sitting comfy rather than squished. I walk a few miles at the park on the reg and these are my go to now. They hold up really well, I’ve given them a beating and they still look new (besides the mud on the soles) The texture/look is even nicer in person, doesn’t look cheap imo Foot doesn’t slip (mine often did with other brands). Fits spot on - I’m a 10 in knit runners from Adidas and Nike, a 10W in ASOS sneakers and I was a 10 here. Do note, I bought both versions and the canvass one I returned. The same size felt a bit too loose around the ankle, bUt it still didn’t slip off. Just didn’t feel right like these. **UPDATE** Weeks of only wearing these Whitin and they are still holding up. My feet got a bit sore at some points because I wasn't used to zero drop, but I don't see it being the fault of quality. I bought these in grey and the tongue seam was lower, it ended up rubbing on my toe bone and I returned them. I also bought a pair of Vivobarefoot and I would say, comparatively, you're getting a good deal with these Whitin. The Vivo do have a bit of a better feel along the bottom of the foot but they're also a hundred bucks more so they should. The shape is slightly different too, but in that case I think the Whitin actually provide more room. Honestly, if I didn't want a plain white sneaker or need a leather one for rainy days, I'd just stick with the Whitin. ... show more

  • Decent Value, Not Breathable
So I am about 8 weeks in to wearing this shoe everyday, I'm on my feet a good portion of the day and have probably put around 200 miles on them so far, this is what I have learned. Pros: Comfy, flexible while still providing some support, decent traction, lightweight, good price, seem to be durable Cons: Not breathable at all, already starting to develop an odor Overall I say these are a 50% win, I like the way they look, they fit nice, and they are lightweight. My big complaint is that these shoes are extremely hot on your feet. There is no air circulating through them at all, they are even worse than my steel toe work boots. I take these things off every chance I get just to air out my feet. I am seriously considering going back to my old shoes through the summer months because I don't know if my feet can handle the heat. There have been nights that I have gotten home at 7pm and these shoes are still damp when I put them back on 12 hours later. If they can solve this issue I would not hesitate to buy 3-4 more pairs because I love everything else about these shoes. ... show more

  • Not wide enough for my wide foot
Size: 12 Color: All Black
I have wide feet, having bought wide shoes for the past 15 years and never been happier. I wanted to try a minimalist shoe because I love the last pair of non-wide shoes I owned, which were a cross between a moccasin and a tennis shoes: very minimalist. I go between an 11 and 11.5 typically extra wide. After searching online for the “best wide minimalist shoe”, I found these and gave them a try. I initially tried an 11 given my history and they felt like a paid of ballerina slippers they were so tight. I returned them thinking that I just needed a size up (which would be 12 for these). Unfortunately, while they fit better, it was still very tight across the ball of my foot and the little toes felt constrained. Yes, these have a bigger toe box, and probably be a good fit for someone whose feet run slightly on the wide side. Also, the feel was very minimalist (good tactile feedback as I walked through the house, no artificial bend points forces on the foot). I really want to like them, and think I would have, if they weren’t so constricting. The rating is from the perspective of looking for a minimalist shoes for a wide foot, and sadly it does not deliver for me. ... show more

  • These ARE Minimalistic Sneakers, not padded!!
Size: 11 Color: White Gum
I been wearing some minimalistic sneakers off and on for the past few years and spotted these Whitin's and decided to get 2 pairs of them in White since white seems to go with most of my clothes....but they get dirty or muddy fast. These have zero drop soles and they ARE minimalistic sneakers....so NOT MUCH or NO PADDING AT ALL!! If you want padded sneakers, get cushioned sneakers. I have seen countless reviews here bellyaching about "no comfort" or "you feel like you can feel everything you're walking on"....blah blah blah. These are Minimalistic Sneakers....NOT Cushioned sneakers. They do come with a removable insole some some slight comfort. I removed the insoles for a more minimalistic feel while wearing them. I ordered a third pair and these seems well built and they are fairly light weight and fit for me was "as expected" and the width seems a bit snug, but with the removable insoles removed, they are a little less snug....and more comfortable. IF I had to nit pick, I'd say the shoe laces are too thin and I ordered thicker shoe laces for these sneakers. I did wear them to a mud run as a volunteer and they got totally trashed/muddied up so bad....but after washing them outside, most of the mud came off and I still wear these shoes around as casual shoes. Great shoes! 4 stars. ... show more

  • Sole feels good and flexible but sides dig into toes
Size: 10 Color: All Black
Hello, I was excited to receive the shoes but I find that they are both very uncomfortable at the top of the toes and the sides. I think this is due to excess fabric along the tongue of the shoe. The stitching and fabric are stitched over the side of the small toe and big toe. When the shoes are laced they pinch and create a lot of pressure. Just waking a few steps around the house is not comfortable. In the attached image the circles is where it feels like it did into my feet. The excess fabric stores under the line inside the shoe. Other than the pinching/stabbing the sole feels good. Great grip to the floor and lots of flexibility. The toe box is wide. Zero drop. ... show more
