Usually wide sizing isn't much wider than standard, or the entire thing is scaled up, as if needing wide toe box means having thick ankles. I've got some duck feet, wide at the toes, skinny at the ankles. These shoes got it right with a snug fit at the ankle and instep but a nice and comfy toe box with room to wiggle toes. Having developed a minor tailor's bunion from narrow toe boxes, these are my new favorite shoes. The outsole is very flexible, and overall the shoes are lightweight, making them nice for a day out on the town and walking around, with or without socks. I would count these as a barefoot feel, so don't expect a ton of support from the soles. 0 arch support, but that's what I like! ... show more

Really good value way of trying out a zero drop wide toebox trainer. I have really enjoyed these shoes since getting them, and have really benefited from their big wide toebox that allows my toes to really spread out. I found that these shoes were a little smaller than their advertised size. I orginally bought an 8.5 US, but found it too tight. I went with 8.5 as I had another pair of Whithin shoes in that size. I returned these and ended up with a size 10. Once I had the correct size these were very comfortable, and I am wearing these daily. The sole is thin, but still offers a level of protection and mild cushioning. I feel like this is a really accessible way of trying out 'barefoot' shoes . ... show more

For the money, I don't think you could find a better alternative. I normally wear an 8.5/9 wide in women's athletic shoes, and I purchased these in the smallest size offered after reading another lady's review and these being a good fit for her similar sized feet. I'm very happy. They're immediately comfortable on my foot. The width is perfect though there may be a smidge of additional toe room I don't need, but I'm ok with that. Once a Vans, Ked's, and Josef Seibel sneaker lover but no more...I can't wear any of those brands comfortably, and they really aren't healthy for my feet. ... show more

I was in the market for "barefoot" shoes and couldn't quite pull the trigger on a pair of Xero Shoes, though I'm sure they are great too. I've been wearing Chuck Taylor's for the last 30 years of my life and I generally love them, but I'm on my feet all day and those dogs have been barking louder than usual lately as my feet are very much on the WIDE side of life. I got a pair of the black-and-whites on a whim to try out a pair of shoes that are meant to accommodate the actual shape of feet and I was completely blown away. The shoes are stylish (I still love the look of Chucks), seem well put together and fit well though you should read the fitting instructions for sure. Most importantly, I was able to run around all day and my feet didn't hurt. It was almost like relearning to walk for the first few hours, but I felt like I could have kept going for another 12 hours. I've been working up to some sort of foot pain condition and it feels like I'm now working on healing. I love these shoes. I'm going to get a few more pairs in different colors. ... show more

Similar to other Whitin shoes I've bought, these are as comfortable as higher end shoes, and my previous whitin shoes tend to last longer than the more expensive ones. Great for wide feet good low end shoe Won’t last years and years but will last one or maybe two Don’t get if you’re looking for shoes that will last you a lifetime The insoles slide around a bit and I don’t like that. It looks amazing... Hope they actually hold up.. if they last even a single year, totally worth it. Fit: Hated it at first. Felt tight both in width and height. Loosening the laces all the way so my foot could expand helped. Then removing the insert, as mentioned by many, really made it comfy.
