I purchased these shoes because I have been looking at minimalist shoes for some time and I wanted something comfortable to wear on my vacation. After three weeks and over 120 miles, I am amazed at how great my feet feel while wearing these shoes. At the end of a day of walking 7+ miles, my feet felt great. The shoes do not have a lot of cushion, but what they have is perfect. You feel every bump and stone, but there is no discomfort and you really feel connected to the ground. They are extremely light and I got several compliments on how they look. (Mine are dark grey with the gum sole) For the price, I think they are impossible to beat.

I’ve been using the Xero Oswego’s for about three years now so I’m used to using “barefoot” shoes. Unfortunately the quality has gone down significantly since my first pair - the rubber sole just isn’t the same and, since I walk over 10 miles every single day (with a 14lbs pack) I’ve been buying new shoes three times in the last year. The middle of the sole is fine, it’s the edges and toes that can’t take the constant pounding. I decided to find a cheaper alternative and, almost a third of the price…these seemed like a good value for the money if they even last half as long. Just got back from a quick 6.3 miles, no issues so far. I’ll update this review once I’ve worn this first pair out with the total miles, how they do with a quick rinse in the sink vs laundry etc. As it stands right now though, can’t really tell the difference between these and the Oswego’s. 👍

I really like the style, colors and how lightweight these shoes are. I purchased a pair of size 12 in brown they were true to size. The fabric is stretchy and breathable. The reason I returned them was due to the stitching on the front of the shoe as it slants outward over my smallest toe. I have hammertoes and my small toe immediately came in contact with the stitching. Unlike the rest of the fabric over the toe area which would stretch comfortably, the stitching was a different matter. I found another pair of Whitin shoes that I just ordered with the same stretchy material but without the lace stitching. I am really hoping they fit comfortably as I prefer minimalist-style shoes. I just wanted to post this review in case anyone else has issues with shoes due to hammertoes.

I have only one complaint. The insoles don't hold up. Outside of that, nothing. I wear these shoes 5-6 days a week, 8-10 hours each day, and they are holding up amazingly. Have had them for about 5 months or so and they barely show any wear on the sole. There is no separation, no tears, nothing. Highly recommend these shoes, but do yourself a favor and get a new insole from the "xeroshoes" website.

I was skeptical at first, but the wide design in the front helps alleviate the discomfort of my misaligned toes. If they get dirty, you can hand wash them with a wet rag. You can also carefully machine wash them after removing the sole inserts and laces. They are fairly inexpensive, so I don't know how they will wear. Compared to the overly narrow improperly sized major athletic shoe brands, these are excellent.
