These are the best shoes I've ever owned. They look great, and most importantly they feel great. I was born with wide feet, and have deformed curled toes from wearing medium width shoes with narrow toe boxes growing up. At the same time, I prefered the flat soles of skate shoes and never liked shoes with raised heels because they hurt my knees. I have looked and looked for wide skate shoes and never found any. Then I found these shoes from Whitin and now I'll never buy another shoe again until they go out of business. They're that good. Buy one-half size up as they're intentionally a half size shorter than normal to be wider than normal. I'm a size US 9M, but their 9's didn't fit me. They were too short. That's when I realized the recomendation to buy half a size up on the product listing, so I returned the 9's and orderes the '9.5-10's' and they fit me perfectly, in both width and length. I have always wanted hey dudes, but I have flat wide feed, I was turned on to this company when I was looking at getting some minimalist wider toe box shoes. They were good quality for the price. The shoe is comfortable. Love the toe space. The leather version isn’t very breathable. I like the mesh versions better. The only problem with the shoes are that they make a slapping sound when I walk on hard surfaces. It’s a little annoying. If they can change to sole to eliminate the slap, I’d give it 5 stars. ... show more

I have been wanting to move into a more grounded feeling shoe. Overall, the design is good and feels great. Having a wider toe-box has been awesome so that your toes can stretch and flex. I did bump down a star for durability. Look, this is an inexpensive product so keep in mind the materials are not of highest quality. Again, I am happy enough that I am buying a different style from this brand. It would be nice though to have a line available with more durable material. Cheers! ... show more

For the price, these are a great introduction to minimalist shoes and a worthy replacement for my old go-to's, the Saucony Bullets. Pros: -Price. These cost less than half as much as most other pairs of minimalist shoes. -Upper material They are soft and breath well. No heel chafing at all. Cons: -Narrow toe-box for minimalist shoes. The toeibox here is a bit pinched, which exacerbates the next issue. -Stitching hot-spot on the pinkie toes. This isn't entirely unexpected. My pinkie toe falls at a spot where there needs to be reinforced stitching. But in a shoe where the materials are otherwise nice and soft and plush, the stitching rubbing here is a bummer. That said, nothing that can't be overcome with a bit of moleskin. And at this pricepoint, it's not bad. Overall, especially if you intend to wear socks and have never tried a minimalist or barefoot shoe, these are a solid first shot without breaking the bank. I have purchased numerous pairs of these Whitin shoes and I am thoroughly impressed with their performance. These shoes are perfect for anyone who wants to experience the benefits of walking or running barefoot while still having the protection of shoes. First and foremost, these shoes are extremely comfortable. The flexible sole allows for natural movement of the feet, and the wide toe box gives your toes plenty of room to spread out. The breathable upper material keeps your feet cool and dry even during intense activities. The shoes are also very durable. I've worn them on both pavement and trails and they've held up very well. The sole is thick enough to provide protection from rocks and other debris, but not so thick that it interferes with the natural movement of the feet.
