  • A terrific shoe at a great price
Size: 9 Wide Color: W51 Green Gum
These are my first pair of minimalist shoes and I am very pleased with them. I have narrow feet and normally wear sneakers in a size 9.5. I purchased these in 9.5 wide and they fit perfectly. The shoes hug my feet and are very light. Inside, they have a thin removable insole that helps when walking on hard surfaces. I be wearing them with the insole because it does not reduce their flexibility and I’m not quite ready to go with a fully minimal foot bed. The quality is really good. The shoes are light as a feather and as comfortable as a pair of slippers. They also look great with jeans or shorts. These are an excellent choice whether you are new to minimalist shoes or just want a pair that doesn’t cost a fortune. ... show more

  • Very good product
Size: 11 Wide Color: W51 Black Gum
The media could not be loaded. I just recieved the shoes so this isn't an endurance review. I feel the shoes very confortable, very good materials and flexibility. The width is just as good as they mention, and the grip is awesome. They're very light and the size chart is very accurate. I'm very happy with my purchase so far. Will upgrade if anything negative shows up ... show more

  • Supply issue -- Size caution
Size: 10 Wide Color: W51 Dark Grey
Several months ago I was prepared to write a great review for this shoe but the situation has evolved. I still like the shoe. I've worn one pair for three months and ordered a second pair. But there are issues, mostly with order/return processing. Orders BTW were "sold by Whitin" and "shipped from Amazon". Long story short: The first order took a very long time to arrive -- and then, weirdly, the record disappeared from my Amazon account. But I liked the shoes and ordered another pair, selecting a different color this time. After another long wait the shoes arrived but they were the wrong color. And even more disagreeably they were soiled and worn-looking; obviously a returned pair, floating loose in a cardboard box. I sent them back to exchange for right color... hoping, also, for an unused pair! Third time's a charm. After a fairly brief wait I received the correct color; clean, fresh, and packaged like new shoes. But by this time, after three months, a quality issue had developed with the first pair. The lace loop, the loop glued to the shoe's tongue, has become nearly detached on one shoe. It's a small problem, not worth returning for, and won't keep me from wearing the shoes -- but it's disappointing. Bottom line: As a fan of barefoot-style shoes, I like these. They are light and flexible with a minimal arch and a comfortable forefoot space. Soles seem to wear well and uppers seem fairly tough. One caution on sizing: The removable insole measures almost exactly what the chart says for that size -- but what the chart doesn't account for is that the shoe adds at least another .5cm of length beyond the insole. Don't order too large -- think moccasin. Soft shoes feel sloppy if too large. Lack of half-sizes could be a problem for some. ... show more

  • Excellent at the price and stylish too!
Size: 10 Wide Color: W51 Dark Grey
I purchased a black pair on a hunch and was so pleasantly surprised that I bought a dark grey pair a few days later. Zero-drop shoes are most comfortable for me when exercising and for casual wear. In the past, I purchased Altras for both. Altra stopped making the simple black casual shoes. The newer model running shoes don't appeal to me. And both styles are overpriced at $120-$140. These feel great. They'll equal the short life of Altras, and they're suitable for casual business dress, all for significantly less money. The sizing is European, so if you're on the line (I'm between a 10-10.5, size up). ... show more

  • Really Comfy!
Size: 10 Wide Color: W51 Dark Blue
I really like these shoes. They’re well made, and very comfortable. There is plenty of room for my toes to splay out, although my feet are average width. Lots of ventilation, and lightweight. The sole is not super thin, but is very flexible and you can feel the ground pretty well. For me, it’s just the right amount of cushion. I wear a 10.5 in Nike and most other shoes, and a size 10.0/43 fits me perfectly. ... show more

  • short laces; need to spend more money to make these shoes work
Size: 10 Wide Color: W51 Dark Grey
I just received these, so I will update when I have further experience with them. But like other Whitin shoes, these come with short laces, so I need to buy longer laces. I've had to do this with 2 pairs of Whitin recently, so be prepared to add the extra price $$ of new laces to your purchase. Is this the new style now, just enough lace length to struggle to get it tied? But I will say that they feel comfortable right out of the box. I'll update on durability later... ... show more

  • Great budget friendly barefoot hiking shoes
Size: 10 Wide Color: W51 Green Gum
I don't have any complaints. I bought these for a week long festival where I was walking a lot on gravel and dirt roads every day. They performed very well and still look almost like new. They have good support and traction. I can feel the terrain under my feet, which gives a natural walking experience. You do need to watch out for sharp stones, because you will feel them. But that's true of any barefoot shoes. It was really only an issue at night when I couldn't see well where I was stepping. I would definitely wear these hiking during the day again. ... show more
