Lamented the loss of my great grandfather Hot sticks, and have never been able to find replacements until now. They are great poles, sturdier than my goodies I was using before these. Only complaint is the straps... small, flat, and hard to get on with thick gloves. Found myself using my teeth frequently to get them around my wrists. Wish these had molded style wrap around ones or just beefier straps that are easier to done. Thanks for making these. The skiing world needs them. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. So I was getting ready for a ski trip to Utah, and my 40! year old poles were on their last leg. I decided to peruse the offerings on Amazon, since I only had 4 days before leaving, and the nearest ski shop is 70 miles away. That's where I saw the WhiSki poles for sale. Just 3 days later I had my new poles. "What a great idea, and why didn't I invent this?" I have heard this comment many, many times on the slopes from multiple strangers. For skiing, the poles work very well. I did have one small problem where the cap on one of the poles would let the contained precious liquid drip out if inverted. I later discovered that the cap had a crack. I contacted the sellers thru Amazon, and they quickly mailed me a replacement cap. They even sent me one of their new ShotSki kits as well. That is fantastic customer service. Sadly, ski season is just about over. Maybe I can convert these WhiSki poles into WhiHike poles! ... show more

I bought the poles 2 years ago and used them 4 or 5 times before noticing that a small scratch on the side caused a pinhole that made one of the poles leak until the liquid level was below the hole. I tried to be gentle with these before hand for this reason but the walls are so thin that I couldn't avoid it. If you baby these, I'm sure they'd last longer, but with normal use, I'd probably just buy a flask and normal poles that can take a beating for many many years. ... show more

When i first saw whiskipoles i thought they where hilarious but was a bit worried that they would be nothing more than a gimmick. I can say now after having held them they feel almost exactly the same in quality and weight as the rossignol poles i have been using for years. Regardless of if you have liquid in them they are a nice ski pole. I was also worried that when full they would be heavy and awkward, and that the liquid would slosh around inside, however the weight difference between the pole being completely full versus empty is almost indistinguishable, and because of the long skinnyprofile of the pole, you really don’t feel the liquid moving around inside. Another concern i had was that the poles would give the liquid a metallic taste, but it turns out that there is some form of anodization or coating on the inside of the pole that prevents that from happening. The last concern i had was that liquid could freeze inside the pole and end up breaking it, but as it turns out this was also accounted for. The cap is designed to pop off at a lower pressure than the pole would break at so the only necessary repair is a little bit of glue in the event of your drink freezing. Overall I’m incredibly pleased with these poles and can’t wait for a season of spreading the stoke! ... show more

Love my Whiski Poles! There's nothing like a little liquid courage to warm you up on the lift. They always get a lot of attention, too! Of course they hold your favorite beverage, but they also function great as solid ski poles. I like to sip evenly from each side to keep them balanced, although you an't really tell the difference when you're skiing. These are a prefect piece of gear for almost any skier. ... show more

Great addition for any skier that likes to take a few sips on the slopes. I found that these ski poles were no different from the ones that I currently use. I'm so glad I got these. It was balmy in Denver this weekend so I was able to ski with them and hike with them them, filled with water. As fun as they could be, these are pretty practical all-purpose poles. Haven't even used them with Whiskey yet, but can't wait to! The strap is sturdy, the cap is even sturdier. I was worried about it being hard to use but it's clearly durable. No effect on balance: the poles are actually super light, a lot lighter than my old poles. I was also worried about my balance and that filling them up would affect me using them, but actually it wasn't that noticeable at all when I was actually skiing. The whole pole fills up, not just the handle. I love these things. ... show more
