abunda_amazon_reviews Pros: came via drop shipping as scheduled without damage. Easy to unbox and assemble. Remote start works great and is very convenient. Produces plenty of power and doesn’t bog down with high surge loads. Gas shutoff is easy to access. Included instructions were clear on how to convert the generator to a floating neutral (most homes with a transfer switch). Cons: Heavy (but not bad to move with the wheels). Loud (but tolerable compared to other open frame generators in this range) Bottom line- Affordable and powerful this is the best of its class. Consumer reports rates it well and I agree with them.;;Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2018;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Produces plenty of power;;RachNDave;;;Amazing generator with great customer service. I purchased this generator in response to the "Bomb Cyclone" which was to be followed by several days of -6 degree temps. If the worst happened, I would have to drain the house pipes and hope that was enough to keep damage from the house. This generator would not have arrived within the two days that would have handled that emergency, but it did arrive 10 days later. Free delivery via freight (thank you Prime, that just paid for the year). We didn't lose power. I received the generator and made provisions for it to power emergency service in the house, and found a natural gas adapter kit (which I have not yet installed and which per Westinghouse voids the warrantee). I did break the generator trickle charge adapter - I called Westinghouse and despite this being entirely my fault, they shipped me a replacement immediately for no charge. It's been quite a while since a company stood behind its products to that degree or any degree at all. The documentation is excellent - it defines exactly where to shift the bonded neutral to a floating neutral - and if you don't fully understand that, before you do anything with the generator and connecting it to your house, call an electrician (I am an electrician). This generator would be far safer with a grounding rod connection if you are running it all by its lonesome, but if you connect to your house panel you need to understand the grounding or you could kill yourself or a utility lineman. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.;;Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2018;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;I'd buy this again in a heartbeat - great generator, great customer service;;spence.munsinger;;;This generator checks all the boxes. I was looking for a generator big enough to run my air conditioning, well pump, fans and lights. I found it. At first it was having trouble starting my air conditioner, but I had my hvac guy install a “hard start” on my ac and it starts it without fail now. It’s a 3&1/2 ton unit. Based on the electrical load my electrician said I was running it at about 75% of its capacity. Running time on it’s 6.6 gallon tank are different on the Amazon description and the manufacturer owners manual. One says 17 hours and the other says 14 hours on a single tank. I believe you could get 14 hours on a 50% load, but running mine at 75% load I got 9 hours and 45 minutes on a single tank. So you’re looking at about 16.25 gallons to run it for 24 hours at 75% load. I’m a bit of a pepper so I like to have enough fuel on hand to run my house off the grid for at least a whole week. This requires me to keep about 115 gallons of fuel on hand which I buy at the beginning of summer and after hurricane season I just use it up in our cars. Bigger 12k/15k generators will consume about 1 gallon per hour at 50% load. At 75% load this 9500/12500 generator uses about (.67) gallon per hour. Also worth mentioning, larger generators don’t offer a backup pull start. They are electric start only. Although this generator has a lot of bells and whistles, it still maintains basic generator functions such as a pull start and manual choke. Simple drain and fill oil changes without oil filters. Bigger generators have automotive style oil filters and electric only choke. You will never worry about losing power again. Also worth noting....to wire this to the house utilizing the 50 amp plug I went directly to an RV center to get it. A 50’ chord was about $225 but well worth it for a long durable chord. Big box hardware stores won’t carry the gauge wire you need to make a long chord. It has enough power for a 18,000 watt AC, freezer, fridge, lights, two fans and lasts 9-10 hours on a full gas tank. The remote control is extremely convenient and useful for us aging folks. The noise level is not bad - much better than our 5500 CAT unit. Also worth noting....to wire this to the house utilizing the 50 amp plug I went directly to an RV center to get it. A 50’ chord was about $225 but well worth it for a long durable chord. Big box hardware stores won’t carry the gauge wire you need to make a long chord. Hope this review helps.

Really good generator for a mid sized home
Got this in the aftermath of hurricane Maria. This is a really good generator and I am pleased with the purchase. This is our second unit and we use it at night. It has enough power for a 18,000 watt AC, freezer, fridge, lights, two fans and lasts 9-10 hours on a full gas tank. The remote control is extremely convenient and useful for us aging folks. The noise level is not bad - much better than our 5500 CAT unit. Highly recommended.

So far so good.
Well what can I say. She is a real beauty. First off item was scheduled to be delivered in ten days. Four days later, she is already here. While not two day prime, I was impressed how fast it got here. Ceva logistics was used as the shipper and got her to me in Florida from Ohio in great shape. Westinghouse packed everything safe n secure. Everything withstood the shipping progress in awesome shape. The contents where easy to get to and the instructions where clear and to the point. Here’s a hint, have a box cutter handy. Use it to cut each corner from top to bottom, then fold the sides down. I will help serve as a soft platform to mount the stand and wheels. I attached a video of her first startup using propane and the remote. She cranked right up. Same with the button and hand pull option. I didn’t get to check output yet since I didn’t want to put a load on her on her first warmup. I will try that tomorrow and on Thursday the transfer switch goes in. I’ll report back with an update on those results. So far so good. 2/28 Restarted her today. No issues. She was putting out electricity. Tomorrow I get the transfer switch installed 3/1 transfer switch installed.. hooked the gen up and all preformed well.. i used an EmerGen EGS107501G2KIT Transfer switch. The generator powered fridge freezer and even the water heater.. so far im pleased 3/6 Westinghouse sent me a a free cover ( ic attached ) as part of their registration process.. Thanks Can’t give five stars until I put her through actual use, under blackout conditions. But a solid four so far
