The boxes started to arrive a week before the delivery date. Box 1 was the back, seat, and supports. Box 2 was the arms & instructions. Box 3, the mattress. Being the impatient women that I am I wasn't waiting for help. I found it easier to build the seat, and back vertical against the wall. It will take two people to install the seat/back to the frame. It's very sturdy, and the mattress is very comfortable. Remember not to tighten the bolts that connect the supports to the arms until the back/seat is in the slots. (I read reviews relentlessly before a purchase. Please let me know if this helps you.) We Got this item for our 13 y/o and she loves it. I would say an 8 out of 10 stars... It took myself my husband and the help of our kid a good 2 hours to put this beast together. The directions are clear for the "most" part. There was some thinking involved lol but not too much. Just take your time and follow the pictures! It came with 1 allen key but my husband had extras that were the same size so we all 3 could do something.. It Still took 2 hours! The futon frame is very solid and sturdy. The queen mattress does leave a bit of a gap like some of the other reviews stated. So, I split the difference on the frame with the mattress and it's not very noticable. Maybe 2 inches on each side. Nothing pillows don't fix.. Now putting it from bed back to couch that is extra tricky!. Like the reviews stated it is not a one person job... But i told my daughter she had to figure it out... So clever. she tied scarfs to the back/top of the futon couch on each side she then stands in the middle of the bed and pulls the scarfs simultaneously as she pushes with her knees on the bottom to get it back to couch position. The mattress was shipped rolled up so i let it lay flat on the floor and then we rolled on it to flatten out the bulges from it being shipped the way it was. If it wasn't for it being so hard to transition from couch to bed i would have rated it a ten. No defects. No scratches. Arrived on time. All hardware included 3 different boxes though not 2. The futon is nice and sturdy and comfortable to sit on. The finish on the wood is not great. The mattress has a zipper that shows on three sides. It looks tacky. The fabric for the mattress is kind of cheap looking. If you just want a comfortable futon, this is great, but it doesn't look fabulous.

This is a Quality piece of furniture. As others as said, the mattress ships seperate from the frame and took about 2 weeks to arrive after frame, but understandable during the CoronaVirus issue. Frame was well made and well designed. Took me 1.5 to 2 hours to put together and the experience was great- everything fit well and instructions were good. I am VERY happy with this. It is for occasional guests and an extra place to sit when we don't have guests. As a bed it seems comfortable and great for occasional guests. It is a futon and not a standard mattress. So i read through the reviews before purchase. The bed frame took me about 1 hour to assemble by myself using power tools. If you don't usually build things I would say plan for 2 hours and I would recommend having someone help due to the fact that there are steps that require holding up the entire inside frame work while simultaneously screwing In bolts, its a little tricky. The futon frame itself is great for the price. If I could buy just the frame and have ordered a different mattress I would've (they arrive separately anyways). The mattress is not comfortable. I could feel the rails underneath, alone on the bed, and I weigh around 150 pounds. I opened it immediately when it arrived so it's hmwhat you get, I should've listened to the reviews. I ordered a topper to put on while sleeping now. The mattress is just cheap honestly. The white strings they used to bind the inside together snapped off in several places before I even had it on the frame. In short... Frame yes. Mattress no. ... show more

This set comes in two boxes for the frame. The mattress ships separately. This kind of annoying since I do not have my mattress yet and I want to sit on the couch. The mattress will arrive in three days so I will just be patient. The frame required assembly. Rarely have I encountered a kit that assembled so easily. The directions were unbelievably clear and there are colored disks everywhere to help insure that pieces are installed correctly. Every piece of the frame fit perfectly, all the screws and hardware bits were in the box. It took about 2.5 hours to assemble because there were just a lot of things to attach to other things and I goofed off frequently. I did this by myself but two people would make final assembly easier because the frame has a bit of weight to it. I may update this review once the mattress arrives. ... show more
