A little understood fact about down: the higher the quality of the down, the less it weighs. That's because the higher the quality of the down, the more air gets trapped between the clusters, and the higher the loft, which produces the temperature regulating effect throughout the year. So this comforter is a comforter for all seasons. The 100% combed cotton shell effectively keeps the down inside and the baffle box construction ensures that the down stays evenly distributed. I was thrilled to find this comforter at such a great price, but to be honest, it did not state clearly that it was ALL duck down and NO goose down, and the fabric is very crunchy and "noisy" when you move around. It is fine for here in Texas, but it is not very filled with the down, so I doubt it would be warm enough for some place up north. But for me it's fine, as I don't like a lot of weight from my covers. Just keep in mind it is not a lofty, overfilled comforter and the down is all duck down so it's not nearly as puffy-looking or soft-feeling as a goose down comforter. On the plus side...it has not leaked any feathers yet. Hopefully I'll get used to the crunchy noise it makes, or it will get softer with age. UPDATE!! It's been about 5 months now, and well, I take back the negative comments. This comforter has gotten much better over time. The crinkly crunchy sound is gone, the fabric has gotten softer and quieter, and the down has puffed up quite a bit so the comforter is MUCH loftier than I thought it was going to be. I am increasing my rating to 5 stars because I LOVE this comforter now. And btw...it STILL hasn't leaked even 1 feather! ... show more
