If I could give this 10 stars I would. This bag is fantastic. I needed a way to carry a large western saddle from TX to CO through several vehicle transports and multiple airports. I had ZERO plan of checking my saddle knowing how luggage can sometimes be handled and this bag was the perfect option. It has a sturdy construction and a decent thickness of padding. The zipper is hefty and the stitching/straps/hardware all seem quality and durable. It's super easy to put on; unzip bag fully, set bag on saddle rack or equivalent with inside of bottom facing upward and top section flipped over to the side, set saddle on saddle rack/bottom section of bag, flop top part over, align with bottom, zip. Done! I hauled this thing through 3 airports including security (where I had to take it out and put it back in) and several large terminals. I had zero concern that the shoulder strap/hardware was going to give or the zipper was going to come undone/split. I like that it has an adjustable shoulder strap, two carrying handles on top, and a clip on the bottom of the stirrups to keep them from flapping around while you walk. As for size, the saddle I had was a rather large, full leather, all around saddle and I still had a TON of room to spare. Pretty sure if you wanted to you could fit a saddle made for some of the draft mixes/smaller drafts (don't take my word for it though, make sure you measure!). It folds up for storage pretty well, it's a little floofy from the padding, but that's expected. I actually have decided instead of storing the bag I'm going to keep my saddle in it so it stays cleaner because it's easy enough to get it in and out of. ... show more

This fits my Steele Mountaineer trail saddle that has no horn and western fenders with a small seat size. It has plenty of extra room and zips easily. I did not zip the saddle pad, just the saddle. It seems well made. It is about the thickness and likeness of a horse turnout blanket. Bought it to protect my new saddle from dust, scratches, the cat, and anything else that might injure it in the barn. A little pricey, but worth it. Like the polka dots also! ... show more

This is the second that I've bought. Not because the other is worn, but because I bought a second western saddle. I also have two of these in the hunter/jumper style for my two jumping saddles. I ride at different barns for different clients, so my tack is in and our of the car almost daily. These covers really protect them from getting banged around and the covers also make it very easy to carry. I haven't checked them as baggage on a flight, yet, but others say that they have and I would not hesitate to try it. This product is really worth the money! ... show more

I have a very heavy Circle Y roping saddle that I use for lessons in different places, so I needed something that would protect it from dust and bumps and also make it easy to transport. I ordered the black and aqua polka dot one. It's worked great so far. It not only fits the saddle but also an an attached breast collar, neoprene cinch and back cinch. Upon receiving the saddle carrier bag I examined it carefully. From all appearances it is well made and covers a saddle on all sides and has full length zippers. (A less expensive saddle cover I previously bought to cover the saddle when stored on a rack does not cover the underside of the saddle or stirrups.) I am satisfied with the quality at the price. The padded nylon bag also has an adjustable, detachable carrying strap. However, I have not put it to use. I have since discovered that the price United Airlines would charge to check the saddle ($235), based on dimensions, would be twice as much as shipping the saddle ahead by UPS ground. ... show more

More durable than I expected! Has a nice strong zipper, and it does the job! We store our tack in an indoor arena and gees Louise, tack gets LAYERS of dust in there. Those cheap saddle covers just don't cut it. This cover keeps bugs & dust out! It fits my 15-inch square skirt ranch cutter just fine! My saddle is shy of 30 inches long and has no problem fitting in this bag. A friend of mine also has one, and it fits her 16-inch square skirt cow-horse saddle just fine too! Nice quilted padding. I used this to fly my saddle when looking for a new horse. Some of the other bags had wimpy zippers and thin material that would only help with dust. I am very happy with this cover. I use it for a Spanish type of saddle and it is perfect. A Western saddle will fit even better. Nice blue color; it looks resistant and it is very practical. The price is awesome for the product if you compare it with other brands.
