I'm just an amateur but rather experienced now. First bought a web harness which worked but cumbersome and uncomfortable. Decided to buy Weaver's saddle more out of lust for a new tool than actual need. That changed with the first use. Takes just a few minutes to inspect and strap on. Comfortable when you're on the ground and even more so in the air. Very high quality. It is so much easier to attach the safety line once you get to a branch needing a chainsaw, that it is much safer than the harness (Yeah, knowing better, it was such an ordeal to tie in with the web harness and so uncomfortable that I often just relied on "skill" and the flip line.) This saddle probably saved my life because I was properly hooked into the safety when a branch dragged the bar down onto the flip line and the saw chain shredded it. It was even comfortable as the line jerked me to a stop -- I guarantee the web harness, had I been tied in, would have hurt. If you are going to spike your way up a tree, don't use anything other than this harness. Not even one time. The price difference just isn't a factor to consider. ... show more

I've been in the tree service business throughout 25 years. I started out using Buckingham saddles because that was what was on the work truck. After using a weaver wide back saddle with all the bells and whistles, I've never turned back. High quality, durable, and comfortable. You will not be disappointed. P.S.
