I needed a heavy-duty studio cart for a niche purpose—to support a large dollhouse I’m working on. I chose this model because I estimated it could be easily repurposed in the kitchen if it didn’t work with the dollhouse. It’s a nice size and height. I was looking at a metal hardware cart at harbor freight, but it was kind of pricey for something I know isn’t high quality. My house is fairly small, and this cart can make a tight corner into a room from a narrow hallway. I left the handle off, and I used the basket as the unit’s middle shelf. Note that while the shelves are plenty sturdy for any use I can think of, they’re not as thick as IKEA’s Omar shelves. [Sidenote—I hate how bulky the Omar stuff is and how uneven the shelves are. I owned two Omars years ago, and I am grateful they went with my first husband.] Anyhow. I built this cart in less than 15 minutes with no tools. Shelf liners are a nice touch. My dollhouse weighs 100+ pounds, 48”l x 20”w x 36”h on a pine shelf board, and the loaded cart is not at risk of toppling, though the dollhouse makes it top heavy. I have lots of space to store supplies and set down tools on the lower two shelves, and the wheels are substantial and roll in all directions smoothly. This is infinitely better than going with something plastic or MDF or something from a big box store. It’s very easy to roll the house into sunlight/out of shadow and to move it around to make the exterior easier to work on. ... show more

This is a very sturdy cart that turns on a dime. I’m using it set up as a hospital supply. I have constant need of daily bandage changes on my legs so there are many different kinds of items necessary to get this done. The top shelf holds the daily necessary items. Loving it. Got it for the harvest right freeze dryer and it’s holding up nicely. I like that you can install the shelves at the height you need and assembly was pretty easy. We did make a wood top for the freeze dryer to sit on because the top shelf has a rim on it that isn’t quite wide enough. All good now. The locking wheels are great. Very sturdy and easy to assemble. Moves easily and is the perfect size for my full size commercial slicer. I liked the wood top material , surprised me to be made of good quality, not laminate. Any kitchen that needs a bit more space this is a great choice.

    • Not quite what I expected but a great value overall

Easy to assemble, seems quite sturdy once you get things tapped down a bit with a rubber mallet, and very handy to have around! That said, there are some minor quibbles to take note of: - Overall construction is much lighter than the standard NSF carts that I've had experience with in the past. It's not at that 'cheesy/cheapo' level that the truly abysmal-level junk is built to by any means, but it's definitely not as heavy as restaurant-tier equipment. Still very acceptable for my needs. - The package arrived in decent shape yet several of the very brittle slip sleeves had broken into shards. Fortunately there were enough spares to assemble the cart properly - The handle portion of the cart has a strange ridge at the radius, which is probably caused by using a thinner wall tubing in the bending machine than most other NSF carts use. The handle is still highly functional but it has a bizarre tactile feel to it if you grip it at the curves. Some more positive notes: - The finish on my cart is smooth, even, and looks durable - The wheels operate smoothly - The included shelf liners, while very slippery, fit very well into their shelves - The six included hooks turned out to be quite handy! They fit on the two 'shallow' shelves very well as-is, and can be used on the 'deep' shelf although they don't stay put unless you hang them from the bottom wire portion instead of the edge - Assembly was super easy Overall it is quite good but not quite what I was expecting. This is a very nice cart move easily. It is very sturdy. It rolls around the kitchen with ease. I have mobility and standing issues so I do a good bit of cooking seated.
