  • Great system - make sure you understand some basics first
There are enough reviews talking about how good the system is, so I'll spell out some things any buyer should know before purchasing. This will ensure that you don't waste your money and have realistic expectations. 1. Make sure you know the TDS/PPM (mg/L) of the water supply you'll be using. You don't want your supply's TDS to be above 350-ish. If it is, you're only going to get a couple washes before the filters are used up. If the TDS is too high the filters won't be able to remove enough dissolved solids to prevent water spotting, making the system a bit pointless and causing the filters to be used up in a single wash. If your supply has a high TDS rating, I recommend adding a pre-filter to bring the TDS down to a reasonable level. My city's TDS was almost 450, so I installed a whole-home 3-stage filtration unit for my house and ran a line to the resin filter. If you go to the expense of adding whole-home filtration, make sure to exclude your exterior water bibs - typically there's no need to filter those, and it'll save a lot of use on your 3-stage filters if you use your exterior bibs often. 2. Read the instructions - there is a bypass valve, and if you have it set to bypass you won't be using the filters and might get the impression that the system isn't working. 3. Rather than guessing or estimating how many washes you can get before a filter change, consider installing an inexpensive multi-jet (MJ) flow multi-jet flow meter on the output of the filter system. You can use that to determine exactly how many gallons/liters/etc. the filters can handle before needing to be replaced, avoiding potential water spots when the filters are used up. I recommend a multi-jet meter over a single-jet meter as they are more accurate. MJ meters can't handle as high of a flow rate, but you'll want to keep the flow rate down when using this system anyway. As for the system itself? It works great, and my back is happy with all the manual drying time that is avoided. ... show more

  • Spotless Car Wash Deionized Water: A Comprehensive Review
If you're a car enthusiast who values maintaining a pristine, spot-free shine on your vehicle, a spotless car wash system with resin and a deionized water (DI) system might be your ultimate solution. Designed to leave your car looking professionally detailed, these systems are becoming increasingly popular among DIY car detailers. Resin Filters are at the heart of this system. They remove calcium, magnesium, iron, and other hard water ions through ion exchange. As the water passes through the resin, it becomes deionized, ensuring that you won’t have to worry about annoying spots or residues on your car after washing. Pros and Cons Pros: Eliminates water spots, reducing the need for additional drying. Protects your car's paintwork from mineral damage. Easy to set up and maintain. Saves time and effort in washing and detailing. Cons: Requires replacement of resin cartridges. The initial investment may be higher than traditional washing methods. Effectiveness may vary based on the hardness of your local water supply. Conclusion A spotless car wash deionized water system is a game-changer for achieving that professional-level, spot-free shine on your vehicle. While the upfront cost might be higher than your average garden hose wash, the benefits—like preserving your car’s paint and reducing the need for costly detailing—make it a worthwhile investment for anyone serious about maintaining their vehicle's appearance. Investing in a spotless car wash system is an investment in your car’s longevity and shine. Say goodbye to water spots and hello to a flawless finish every time! ... show more

  • 320ppm down to 7 ppm
Reduced our hard water from 320 ppm down to 7 ppm at 1 GPM. The water out of the hose was 3.6 GPM, so we had to almost turn it off to get flow rate down to 1 GPM. I recommend getting a flow meter for best results. Hose connections take some fiddling to get leak free.

  • Works great
I just bought a brand new truck and I've been using this to rinse the truck after washing it. Works really well. I wish the filters were a little bit less expensive.

  • Must have for car detailing your car at home
Great product. You need to buy adapters on in/out connections but the valve system works amazingly and makes your car wash easier. PPM went down from 225 to 5 PPM like magic. Resine filters don't last long though.

  • No more water spots
Installed this filter system for my pressure washer. Really helps with water spots. Highly recommended.

  • It doesn't reduce water spots
This product claims it reduces hard water spots, well not at all. It's so expensive. It doesn't work at all.

  • This filter is awesome with no water spots at first but...
Caution, test your waters TDS first. My city water department says our water TDS should be less than 400 ppm. I tested it and it was much higher. This is too high a TDS for this filter to last. I got 5 washes using only for the final rinse on a full size pickup truck before the water tested from the this system was too high to prevent water spotting. When this system was first used the filtered water had TDS around 80 ppm and did a good job. It now was 300 ppm after just 5 washes. Time to change the included replacement filters. I now have learned to do the final rinse with unfiltered water for the initial rinse to get the suds off then a quicker filtered rinse. This way they did last a little longer. Overall I am impressed with the build quality, it is made to last with exceptional piping and easy to use directional valve. I will try to refill my own filters as another reviewer has done. Ultimately if you are in an area with water that has low TDS it will last much longer than I have experienced. Either you will need a much larger system at higher cost or best to filter through a RO system first if you can. ... show more
