I purchased these shoes for a white water rafting trip and they held up great. At first I thought it wasn't going to be wide enough, as I normally wear a Wide shoe, but the mesh was flexible enough and the sole was plenty wide that it wasn't an issue. Upon wearing, it is pretty comfortable as it has enough cushion, even on rocky ground. I had thought the back of the ankle fabric wasn't going to be tall enough, but it was fine. After a half day of walking and rafting, all was well. The shoe held up fine, never slipped off and performed as expected. I put the shoes out in the sun and within an hour they were dry. These are great swim shoes! I have wide feet so I thought I’d order a bigger size to make sure they’d fit on my feet, but they’re actually too big because they have a lot of stretch! So they seem to run true to size. May need to size up half a size for wider feet. One of the shoes sits a little weird on one of my feet and I find my self adjusting it during my time in the pool or gym, but overall they are comfortable and lightweight. The shoes fit perfectly and were very comfortable. I wore these on the beach and hiked a little bit and never got a grain of sand inside. They provided great traction when climbing around slippery rocks at the virgin gorda baths in Tortola. The price is perfect also. I can’t say enough good things about these water shoes! As someone who frequents the beach, I’ve gone through my fair share of water shoes that claim to be comfortable and sand-resistant, only to be disappointed. Not with these, though! Comfort Right out of the box, they fit like a glove. The material is soft yet durable, providing excellent comfort for long walks along the shore. Sand Resistance The standout feature for me is how little sand actually gets into these shoes. With other, cheaper water shoes, I would find myself constantly emptying out sand. With these, it’s a rare occurrence—a game-changer for any beachgoer. Versatility While I mainly wear them to the beach, their stylish design and superb functionality make me confident they’d be great for other water activities too. I use these for lake swimming and stand up paddling (SUP). Pros: - they protect feet from the rocks in the lake - they grip the board really well - they do dry quickly- especially if you remove the inserts - water drains right out - they float. Get a bright color for a better chance of seeing them if you need to recover it - I was able to go from SUP and swimming to a short hike, without changing shoes - they do run a bit tight, yet you don’t want them loose like regular shoes or they won’t stay when wet. - there was surprisingly little lake muck in them when I cleaned them out, perhaps because it drains with the water. Your muck may vary! - warmer than going barefoot Cons: - one fell off of my foot in the lake. This was likely user error, but I thought that I had them both snug enough. Since it floats and I chose a bright color, I did recover it. I may mark the ties once I know how tight I need them. - it would be great if replacement inserts were available. These will get a lot of use and I will need them! Caveat: Previously I always bought water shoes on the cheap, and that was a waste as they either dug in uncomfortably or didn’t hold up for a day. This is my first time buying in the $25 - 30 range. Eyes opened! My comparison experiences were cheap junk, though, FWIW. Summary: My old water shoes are all going in the trash. These are the ones! They are rugged, still comfortable, and surprisingly did provide a bit of warmth vs paddling barefoot. I used them for about 2.5 hrs, wet and dry, without “breaking them in” first and I had no comfort issues. I hope that this review is helpful to you; do let me know, and happy shopping! ... show more
