I've had a couple of the Galayou branded Y4 cameras, as well as a Wansview W7 prior to ordering this one. (Galayou is an alternate branding of the Wansview cameras and uses the same software) The Galayou ones were ok, but I initially had to return several of them due to various issues before I finally got a couple that worked right. Once I got good ones they've been fairly reliable, but they still sometimes seem to have a negative effect on my Wifi network performance. So I decided to try the Wansview branded ones instead to see if they have the same problem. So far, the Wansview ones seem to be better. Though essentially the same camera as the Y4 and W7 far as features, this Wansview Q5 has a sharper image, even a little better than the W7. Really the quality is quite good for a twenty dollar camera. The contrast is a little low on the Y4 in comparison, while the W7 looks over sharpened in comparison. The main distinguishing difference is the Y4 and W7 supposedly can be used outdoors and have dedicated IR lights, whereas the Q5 seems to be more intended for indoor only use. Of course, I'm not sure I'd want the others outdoors either without at list some protection from the elements. Though the Q5 doesn't have the (visible) IR lights like the others do, it still works quite well in the dark. It's actually a bit more stealthy since you don't see the red glow of the lights in the dark. Night vision on the Q5 is at least as good as the Y4 and W7, maybe even a little better. I have it set up in a 20x30 garage and it is able to throw enough light to see the opposite wall in total darkness. Not terribly bright, but enough to see what's going on. Like the others, the pan/tilt function works ok. It's a bit too granular, so it's hard to get it pointed exactly where you want, but I rarely move them so not a big deal to me. Probably more of a software issue than the camera itself. I didn't see anything about RTSP in the listing, but I took a chance and ordered it anyway. I am happy to report the Q5 DOES support RTSP! It works great with Contacam, which is what I use for motion detection and recording for all my cameras. No need for any cloud services and you can keep your video locally. Because I am using Contacam, I haven't used the built-in motion detection so I can't comment on how well that works. The mobile app on Android is decent. I've definitely seen worse. I didn't subscribe to any of their cloud features since I use ContaCam, but controlling and configuring the camera is pretty straightforward. One thing I wish it had though is a way to set the frame rate for streaming. Seems to use a lot more bandwidth than I really need just for monitoring. With both the Galayou and Wansview branded cameras, I always seem to have trouble getting it set up the first time. I don't know what the deal is, but it ends up taking me at least 2 tries. Weird because I don't really do anything different. It just seems finicky. In summary, I am quite happy with the Q5 so far, especially considering the price. I bought two cameras to use during my vacation so it has been used for a little more than a month. Performance so far has been flawless including the easy setup and operation. Setup is well documented step by step ending with a bar code scanning that uses the camera itself to read. I watched both cameras from in and out of the country, using wi-fi and cell lines and was always able to connect, view and operate the cameras perfectly. Image quality is good - sure there are better cameras - but for the price it is an amazing quality. Night vision is also surprisingly good considering the small infra-red led used. Since it is a pan and tilt camera the capability of setting preferred watch positions helps a lot moving the camera fast to the predetermined positions with a touch of an icon. I didn't test the motion detection as no event happened to trigger it. I will update this review in some months or before, if something happens but if all keeps working fine these cameras are a real bargain ! I have two of these cameras and for the price they work quite well. Very easy to set up... took less then 10 minutes. However, when I get a notification or alert on the APP, I can log-on and move the camera around easily, but it only displays 9 seconds of an event. You have to either subscribe to their service to see more or pull out the (optional) micro-SD card and view it on your personal computer. In most cases 9 seconds is enough, so I find the camera a good value. ... show more

Can’t say enough good about Wansview!!! Their cameras, app, and customer service are outstanding!!! We had tried cameras that used another app and had nothing but trouble setting them up. We finally gave up and returned those cameras. We then purchased, (1) Wansview Wireless Security Camera, IP Camera 2K, WiFi Home Indoor Camera for Baby/Pet/Nanny, 2 Way Audio Night Vision, Works with Alexa, with TF Card (Camera) (2) Wansview 2K Light Bulb Security Camera - 2.4G WiFi Security Cameras Wireless Outdoor Indoor for Home Security, 360° Monitoring, Auto Tracking, 24/7 R (Camera) and (3) Wansview 2K Security Cameras Wireless Outdoor-2.4G WiFi Home Security Cameras via Remote Control with Phone APP for 360° View, Color Night Vision, 24 (Camera). Setup for these cameras with the Wansview app was SUPER EASY! The 2K pictures are EXTREMELY CLEAR! The apps ability to tilt, pan, and zoom is FANTASTIC! The only issue we had was adding another phone to the same app account. You don’t repeat camera setup using the other phone. The first phone is the “administrator”. Simply send a notice to new phone and accept the “invite” on the new phone. Worked great! Cameras up and running on second phone (ps: not sure if my terminology on this process is correct) We are so pleased with these cameras that we have decided to order these cameras for another location. We emailed Wansview customer service to determine if we had to create a new app account for the new location. The response from Wansview customer service was very quick and the answer was what we were hoping for. We can use the existing app account. Just setup the cameras with the new location’s router (same setup process as first location) We can view cameras from both locations on the same app account! Really amazed at how well this camera works given the price point! I'd tried out more expensive ones that were just awful - and didn't even turn on! But this one has solid picture quality, night vision, audio, mic - and has made a WORLD of difference (for better or worse! XD) to monitor my puppy!
