Description

This version of the Walkstool Basic Stool offers a normal sitting height of 20" and low sitting height of 12". The three aluminum legs adjust telescopically between these two heights. The stool folds into an easy-to- carry seating solution for event and press photographers, campers and other outdoor enthusiasts, trade show reps, or simply anyone who needs a seat where a comfortable chair may be hard to come by. It can also be used as a stand to hold tools and other small objects when you make repairs. This 20" model is ideally suitable for user heights up to 5'9", and it supports up to 330 lb on its black polyester seat and matching gray legs. Walkstool focuses on designing quality, long-lasting products and is the first brand to make telescopically adjustable three-legged stools.

  • Amazing little stool!
Size: 20" Seat Height
I got this stool to carry with me on hikes because I have sciatic pain and sometimes need to sit down to relieve the pain. This stool is really nice because it's sturdy enough to hold me up (and I am a large person - it definitely can handle bigger loads!) and it's easy to set up and collapse. Best of all, it doesn't weigh that much or take up a lot of space, so I can carry it in a tote bag or backpack without any trouble. The only drawback is it's a smidge too big for a standard hydration backpack. As for comfort, it is what it is. It works great for short-term use, but wouldn't want to sit on it for more than maybe 15 minutes at a time. But if you just need something for short intervals, it's a great choice. ... show more

  • Amazingly comfortable, compact and quiet
Size: 24" Seat Height
The Walk Stool Basic is extremely lightweight. It arrived yesterday so as of now I've only used it for scouting today. The walk stool basic is so compact and lightweight that I carried it in the pockets of my fleece pullover. I could easily zip both pockets shut which is a plus when crawling over dead tree and ducking branches. The walk stool basic is also quiet, I simply press the red button before slowly extending the legs. I leaned against a tree for back support. I have the 24 inch basic model. I was so impressed with how comfortably smoooth and quiet it performed, I've decided to use it on tomorrow's bow hunting trip and prepared a permanent place to keep it in my hunting backpack. I plan to carry it anywhere and everywhere I hunt or scout from the ground. This stool is also sturdy and durable. ... show more

  • I can get into a fairly comfortable position, and the tall height allows you to ...
Size: 24" Seat Height
I am writing this review while sitting on my 60cm height walkstool. The seat is very small, and as another comment mentioned, it can be unaccommodating to the male anatomy. I have to manually reposition my balls each time I sit down or there is no space for them and they get squashed uncomfortably by the support between my legs. Because it is a tripod, you either have to sit with one corner between your legs, and one behind each butt cheek, (digging into each cheek may be more accurate), or try to sit with one of the supports behind you, and one on either side(I find this impossible myself, as I have to lift my legs off the ground and I sink back into the stool). That being said, if I work at it, I can get into a fairly comfortable position, and the tall height allows you to have part of your weight carried by your legs on the ground. I am a 6 foot (5'11") tall male, who weighs 190lbs, with a 34" waist. After 15 minutes or so, it can get uncomfortable, and you have to be very conscious of how the seat is supporting your weight. That being said, I'll probably keep it and use it. At the low height setting I don't have these same issues, as it puts me in a nice squat position, and I can squat on basically anything. At the low height it works like a monopod with just one point of contact with the ground. It's about as comfortable as when I sit on my skateboard, except you have a rotational axis of movement instead of a horizontal one. I actually have figured out how to sit on the full height configuration with one support behind, basically on my tailbone, and the two front supports supporting each leg midway on my hamstrings. I also have to lift my feet off the ground, and grab onto the midpoint of the supports with my feet like a monkey, halfway between the seat and the ground where the supports intersect, with my feet. This is probably the most long term comfortable position, just as long as you get your pelvic tilt right, so your lower back doesn't curve. So with a little work, it can be pretty comfortable. I got the basic model and not the comfort one, so that's what you might have to deal with. Other than that, the quality seems excellent, and I anticipate it will last a long time and go anywhere without trouble. ... show more

  • Good
Size: 20" Seat Height
Expensive, but worth it. Robust, well engineered design that is well manufactured. The taller versions feel a little tippy, but on reasonably flat ground they work well.

  • Unstable!
Size: 24" Seat Height
It was flimsy and unstable. I fell to ground because it fell over as I was trying to sit on it! The seat was so small. It was lightweight, but that was such a disadvantage. Horrible!

  • Very uncomfortable to sit upon
Size: 24" Seat Height
It's a very lightweight, but somehow yet very sturdy seat, easily able to be carried, but also uncomfortable to sit upon for very long. I'm a bigger guy (approximately 6'2" and 250lbs), but it holds me very well - if I can sit on it for very long.

  • Steardy, reliable and easy to carry while traveling
Size: 20" Seat Height
This is the second product that I purchased from this company. I have been using this stool because I have lymphedema on my legs. It means that my legs do not have good circulation and swell. In an effort to keep the swelling down I need to keep the legs elevated. Both stools, this stool and the comfort stool (purchased about 3 years ago), have been great for that purpose. Additionally, I have used the stool for seating in places where I had to stand for a long time. Such as theater or movie lines. I find both stool types comfortable. Since I own both, the basic and the comfort stools, I would say that you need to decide how long you expect to be using it. The comfort stool is more comfortable to seat for a long time and more steady. The Comfort stool that I previously purchased is 18" high. The basic is 20" high but the seating area is narrower than the basic stool. Both the basic and the comfort stools are easy to fold. I am able to take them in the plane in my carrying case. I love my "Walkstool" and the reason I bought a second one is so in case I loose one, I would have another one to take with me. This stool goes everywhere with me. ... show more

  • Very uncomfortable!!
Size: 24" Seat Height
I am shocked at the positive reviews of this product!! I am a normal weight adult and I wouldn't able to sit on this basic stool for more than a few minutes without being uncomfortable. The 3 top bars of the seat dug into me. On the positive side, It would be great for a kid and is very compact and lightweight. I will be ordering a more comfortable walk stool. ... show more
