Description

Check out our latest introduction to our product offerings… the new 2-speed pro portable bench top planer model 60200PC-WHD ! The 60200PC-WHD has 2 feed speeds, 26 fpm for regular every day production type planing, or 18 fpm, which will provide a finer finish on figured stock. As with our Wahuda spiral style cutterhead machines, our planer comes with 4-sided carbide inserts already installed. And we’ve have made it quick and easy to access the cutterhead, for insert rotation or replacement, by adding star knobs to the 4 inch dust port and dust chute screws that can be quickly removed by hand without a tool. Also included is a 4 inch to 2 ½ inch dust port adapter. We’ve also added pullout extensions on the heavy gauge infeed and outfeed tables to give you 45” of total table length if needed, for those longer pieces of stock. If even longer pieces of lumber need machining, you can always add additional supports…such as roller stands. And the tables and pullout extensions are easily adjusted to get them coplanar to the center wear plate. Weighing in at about 77 lbs, it can be moved around your shop for easy access. This planer has a turret style 8 position preset depth stop ranging from 1/8” to 1 ¾” which allows for consistent thickness when planing large quantities of stock. It has a standard stock capacity of 13” W X 6” H with a 1/8” maximum depth of cut. (1/32” max depth of cut at 10” wide and above). The powerful 120 V 15 amp motor, which equates to about 2.2 HP, will keep up with any stock you throw at it. CAUTION: The speed selector switch should only be changed while the machine is running and not under load. Otherwise, damage will occur to the speed selector mechanism.

  • Great Value for the price!
Style: Single Speed - New
I've used this planer to smooth out many boards from pallets to create beautiful planter boxes, picture frames and bandsaw boxes. It's quiet, powerful and easy to operate. I built a long sled to fit under it which reduces planer snipe and allows for even surfacing on long boards. Be careful to check pallet wood for nail bits. I use a strong magnet on fishing line to hover over each board which automatically finds any embedded metal pieces. I attached a dust collector system to it and see very little chips and shavings after planing, using short passes. ... show more

  • Its heavy
Style: Single Speed - New
I got the single speed because in 12 years with a 2 speed machine, I've never used anything but the fast speed. I wasn't interested in the indexed presets because with my DeWalt the only thing the preset did was get in the way. The sidewalls are plastic, but it's a good, solid plastic. This machine is heavy and solid. 1. I took the inserts out and cleaned them with mineral oil and then cleaned the platen with mineral oil. There was quite a bit of oil from the factory (not a bad thing. these machines can sit there for months before shipment). However, if you don't get the excess oil off, the dust from the wood can collect UNDER the inserts and cause them to not seat properly. Likewise, when you change the position of the insert, pull the insert all the way out and clean the area well. It truly does make a difference. The inserts came out easily and went back in easily. Be careful when replacing them because if you screw them in too fast, they will not align properly. I used a T25 star with a magnetic sleeve. It helped a LOT. Unlike most of the insert using machines I've worked on, this platen is not approached from the top. If you have any trouble with your hands at all, its a hassle. The magnetic sleeve allowed me to place the screw without using my fingers. 2. The one thing that really gets to me is the power cord. There is a "button plug" on both sides of the machine. Unfortunately, the power cord plug end is too large to fit. After I find out if I'm goint to keep this machine, I'll have to cut and grind the power plug or drill a hole under the lifting space. I shouldn't have to. Lost a star there. 3. I was unable to find the dimensions of the actual machine anywhere. This prevented me from being able to build the home for the machine (I use an infeed and outfeed table shared with my table saw, jointer and router table). For what it's worth: L->R Base: 21.75 F->B Base: 13.5 T->B: 16.5(+4 for the crank) B-> Infeed: 2.625 First day: Everything was square and copacetic with the machine itself. I would suggest that if for whatever reason you're going to take of the feed tables, get one of those extensions that allow a 90 degree turn on the screw head. The space under the feed tables is limited to say the least. I ran a few spruce boards. At first I was concerned about dust collection, but then I realized I had forgotten to open the blast gate. NOT ONE SINGLE CHIP came out after the blast gate (4") was opened. I'm running a 3hp Grizzly, but my DeWalt caught only about 98% of the chips. I have no idea what would happen with the 2.5 pipe. This machine is much quieter than the DeWalt I was using. And it's not the inserts because I had a shelix in my old machine. That doesn't mean you don't need ear protection, but your neighbors won't need it. So far so good. I'll update in a few weeks after I put it thru its paces. ... show more

  • dissapointing performance and cost on me to return
Style: Two Speed-New
I really wanted this planer to workout. Right out of the box it began making a terrible noise that sounded like someone threw a hand full of pennies into the drive train. I am aware that you can not turn the speed rate switch without the machine on. The switch may have been bumped by mistake in unpacking, I don't know, can't say for certain. What I do know is that if that is the reason why, this makes for very poor design. The worst part is that upon return I ended up having to pay $45 out of pocket in shipping, which frankly made me a little angry. Very disappointing that trying something new cost me almost 50 bucks. On that point alone I will never try another Wahuda tool again. I guess there is something to be said in going with proven brands. I replaced this planer with a Makita and am very happy with its performance. ... show more

  • Awesome
Style: Single Speed - New
Love this planer. Replaced a Dewalt DW734. It came in damaged, needed the planer, so I contacted Wahuda directly and they took care of it. The cut quality is great, and comes out very smooth. Excellent value for a spiral cutter head planer from the factory.

  • 2 years later, still going strong.
Style: Two Speed-New
I was apprehensive about this product, as I'd never heard of the manufacturer. I've been presently surprised by its power and accuracy. Almost 2 years later its still working just as well as the day I set it up and I have yet to even rotate the blades on the cutter head. Only negative I've found is the infeed/outfeed trays are a little less rigid than I would like, especially with the rollers fully extended, but that's to be expected with any benchtop versions of this type. ... show more

  • Great planer
Style: Single Speed - New
I had a grizzly g1021z planer with idexible head I had to downsize shop and sold it. Well when I moved god my shop back up I did heavy research and I chose the single speed 13 planer. The best decision I made, this machine Cuts as good as my 15 inch grizzly did. The packaging was awesome styrofoam and 1/4 plywoods on sides and top. I put a wixey digital reader on it for accuracy. Very little snip and you do not need a head lock it cuts great every time better then the big DW machines ... show more
