My son grabs this every day. It has taught him a number of new words. The pages are completely flat and all you have to do it touch the picture on the page for it to talk. Pretty cool technology. Lots of words/letters to learn. I love that words are categorized under different flaps depending on a specific category. Size is great. I have packed this in my hand bag tote when traveling with my little ones. Only negative is there are two volume levels, but they're both too loud (especially the higher one!). The softer one is still not quiet enough to be able to bring along to a restaurant. Or to use on an airplane. It would disturb those around them.. But because of how much my son loves this and how well it's independently taught him words, I didn't knock a star off for noise level. ... show more

This toy is very cute and educational. I often find that some of these "electronic" types of toys are just more noise than having any educational value. However, this one is really cute. I like that it has a "find the picture" activity, where the toy will ask you to find a specified picture. The only negative thing, is that some of the questions, ask the child to find something beginning with a specific letter....if a child does not yet know their letters, this could be frustrating (unless an adult was playing with them). Eventually, after a few attempts, the toy will name the object they needed to find. I also like the fact that is comes shipped with 2 AA batteries in it. That's a nice perk. The reason for the 4 stars, is that I had to send it back because it didn't work properly. This book is touch (pressure) sensitive, and you have to press on the picture for it to name the picture, or to play the games. Well, on my device, it wasn't working right - on each page, the top right corner picture couldn't be pressed (in other words, the toy wouldn't say the name of this picture, because it wasn't recognizing that the picture was pressed). Hopefully it was just this one, and the replacement one will be working properly. ... show more

I got this on a whim when it was a on super sale, so I figured it wouldn't hurt if my toddler didn't like it. HE IS OBSSESSED. He plays with it constantly. He loves touching the pages. Colorful pictures, words are clear and easy to understand. As a grandmother, and speech-language pathologist, I highly recommend this touch and teach word book! This product has many developmental benefits. It teaches individual words and expansion of vocabulary with more words that describe each picture in more detail. It is interactive, teaches categorization, stimulates musical creativity as well. It is a great product! My grandchildren ages one through four, each love this word book!
