A friend recently puppy sat our female chihuahua and thought the dog was uncomfortable with the standard collar we provided. (Had searched local stores for a small enough harness but no luck.) Our neighbor managed to find this one ordered it and the dog was wearing it when we returned and seemed much happier on her walks without the tension on her neck. So, when we acquired a male companion for her, we ordered one of these for him. He is slightly bigger so we had a thin harness that developed pressure points he found uncomfortable so he was a happy puppy when this one arrived as it is far more comfortable. A minor quibble. It is harder to clip the leash to two small "D" rings with a dog squirming in anticipation of a walk. Interesting to see if they could make on with a single, larger ring. ... show more

I bought two harnesses. One medium for my 13 lb Chihuahua mix and a small for my boyfriend's 10 lb poodle mix and both fit perfectly. Both dogs had the harness that goes over the head and my dog was used to it but my boyfriend's dog did not like it so this is perfect for him. The harness is really easy to get on and off and my dog doesn't pull as much with this harness which is a big plus. Not sure about the durability because I wash my dogs harness and leash every time she gets a bath so time will tell. ... show more

Bought this to replace doggo's puglife harness and couldn't be happier. Her old harness slipped over the head and buckled across the chest. The problem is that the buckle rests between the first joint of her leg and her chest, so when she walked/ran in it she developed a terrible abrasion. Bad design. A properly fitted harness should not cause your dog injury. This mesh style harness is much better. Placing the clasp at the top eliminates any possibility of injury. It fits her super well even though she's quite a barrel-chested little dog. It moves well with her on walks and the generous cutouts for the legs give her full freedom of movement. I was a little worried about the durability of this thing, but it seems pretty good so far. Time will tell. I really like the combination of Velcro + clasp, makes fastening the harness feel very secure. It's also very easy to put on plus it fits well both over and under clothes. Very happy with it so far. Would definitely recommend, at least for smaller dogs. ... show more

This is a great quality harness. I use this multiple times a day for several months now. The mesh, seams, velcro and buckle are all still in great shape. The dog rescue I volunteer for tends to stick mainly to just this harness for all the dogs. This product is great once you establish what your dogs size is. Even after I took measurements of my puppy and ordered the size according to the size chart, it was way too tight on her so I would recommend going up a size from what you think your dog wears. Besides the sizing issue, the harness itself is awesome and my dog seems so comfortable. We go for long walks and it doesn’t rub her stomach and irritate her front legs like some harnesses in the past have done. The leash is also very well made and the handle has cushion to make it comfortable. Would def order again once she grows out of this size. ... show more

I've had dachshunds for 17 years and never had a harness fit this well. It's perfectly snug with no under arm rubbing and will not pull off over the head while walking (a problem I've had with past harnesses. You get at just the right angle and it slips off over the head). I bought an XS based in other reviews with dachshunds, but sadly this size will not last her long. She's 5 months and about 8.5-9 lbs. Purchase the XXXS when my yorkipoo was 4lbs and once he got a little chubby at 7lb (my bad) I purchased the XXS and it fits with room to grow! He has a low cold tolerance (tru SoCal pup), so I use it with a sweater and he has plenty of room to move! If I overfeed him again, I’m grabbing another one in the next size. 🤭 ... show more

Although it is a cat harness, I use it for my 15 pound terrier Chihuahua mix. She is all muscle and very hard to control. This harness has not put me down. It keeps her secure it is strong. I have several and many colors and it works great.
