We had been using tennis balls on my wife's walker, but after a while the yellow fur on the balls would wear off. The sticky undercoating would then pick up dust from the hardwood flooring. This, in turn, would stick to the flooring and required scraping to remove. These little shoes and socks seem to have solved the problem. So far, so good.

These looked great online. They look cute indoors on a walker, but I’m not certain how safe these are. The feet lack any sort of treads on the bottom. I imagine it’s to make it easier to get the covers on, but a listing photo shows a walker with the ski attached and uncovered suggesting that is an option. Most importantly, the smell of rubber is STRONG. So strong I had to double check they are latex free. I have good hand strength and struggled to get the covers to stretch to fit. They feel thin as if they will quickly wear through. The covers are a great idea for those who find their current walker to get stuck to the floor while walking, but they are thin and likely to wear through fast. For folks with only one walker these aren’t practical as use outside of the house means they are going to quickly get wet/damaged and they are too difficult to take off/put back on to do that every time. For someone who is home bound this is not a problem.

This is a review for Vive Walker Ski Glides and Covers (4 PCS) - Senior & Elderly Accesories for Folding Walkers - Feet Sliders for Back Legs - Replacement Part, Slides Easily - Gliders for Hardwood Floor & Outdoor Use My mother lives with and uses a variety of walkers we have placed around the house. She uses a traditional foldable aluminum frame walker, with wheels in the front only, in her bedroom and bathroom because it's smaller than the rollers with seats and she can better maneuver tighter spaces like the bathroom. We have snap together wood flooring and originally I thought big area rugs would help with the floor not being so slippery, but it also creates an edge for the walker's back feet to catch on. Tennis balls can help reduce friction on carpet to help it glide better or are used to cushion the hard plastic feet so you don't scratch wood floors, but they didn't help with our situation. I was at a loss of what to try for getting over raised edges when I saw these little skis and decided to test them out! These caps are a great idea, they work well for gliding over not only the edge of a rug, but also through interior doorways. The skis help you ease over the saddle without getting hung up, so if you have an area where you move from carpet to wood or tile (like a kitchen and bathroom doorways) it helps a lot with that transition. I believe these skis should be a universal fit for basic silver walkers but ours is a Drive Walker and it's about 5 years old, and the skis fit perfectly. You do have to remove the original caps first. I had a really hard time getting the old caps out, I was convinced they were glued inside the tubes. My husband used a flat head screwdriver and some elbow grease to lift the edges of the caps then pry them out. There was no glue residue either, they just fit very snug inside the tubes. So if you're struggling, try to lift the edge with a tool then they should come out more easily. Next you'll place the new skis onto the feet. They slide on easily and are a tight fit, they haven't shifted or twisted around so they seem really secure so far. As far as the fabric ski covers, first of all I loved them because they looked like a pair of miniature house slippers! But getting them on the skis was a challenge too! They're made from a thick and very stiff synthetic fabric that makes them difficult to stretch over the skis. It takes a few minutes to wiggle the entire ski on but once they were in place they hugged the skis perfectly so I understand why they have to be a tight fit. I tested them out gliding them over the wood floors, tile and carpeted areas and they were very smooth. My mom doesn't want to use them because she's worried they'll slip so I did take them off, but I had no issues with them when I tested them on different flooring. If you plan to use the covers definitely just use them indoors though. They're a tight weave, knit texture and while they seem really durable they would pick up a lot of dirt and debris if used outside. Overall I think these skis have a great design to help with gliding over edges of rugs and through doorways more easily. So far they're working just as intended so I'm very happy with this order. These were priced at $9.99 when I ordered and I think that's a great deal for both the skis and their covers, I'd definitely order again and recommend them to others.

These are ideal for anyone who uses a walker exclusively indoors! They glide well on hard surfaces, making it easy to maneuver the walker. And they don't scratch hard wood flooring either! They're very easy to put on the walker without any tools and seem to fit most standard walker legs. They're also more durable than the standard tennis ball. While they don't work especially well out doors, they are perfect for anyone needing smooth mobility inside on hard surfaces.
