My husband and I had to replace the metal shoe horn we were using from my mother. We both needed one long enough we could slip on our tennis shoes quickly and without bending down. We both have back problems and knee problems from separate incidents years ago. We are in our early 40's. The product is much sturdier than either of us expected for coming in two pieces that needed to be linked together. The way they designed how it clips into itself to make one long shoe horn is well done. We have been using it daily now for over a month. It is has not bent, cracked, broken, or warped in any way and my husband can be kind of rough on shoe horns when using them for his boots and sneakers. I only wish it was about six inches longer. I am 5ft 4 inches tall and he is 5ft 8 inches tall. It is easier for me but on days his back is acting up badly, the little bit of bending down sideways he needs to do when standing up to put on shoes, hurts him some. He will have to switch to sitting down to put his shoes on. All and all though this product meets our needs, is good quality, hasn't broken or bent where the two pieces are joined, and it going strong a month later. We are both very satisfied.

Okay, this is a handy thing to have. It has made slipping on a pair of shoes a breeze. It's a good quality item for a moderate price and we put up a hook in the closet to keep it close to hand. Did I need it? No, but I'm glad to have it. Getting older presents challenges, but this is one we'll sail through with this light, sturdy, shoehorn in our arsenal. Huzzah!

I have a very high instep. Putting on shoes is usually a tug and war with my shoes. I also have problems with my balance. With the Vive shoehorn I’m actually able to put my shoes on standing up. For years I’ve had to find a place to sit down and spend at least 30 seconds pulling, tugging and twisting my foot one way or another to get my foot into my shoe. Now I can put my toes in, out the shoehorn in the heel of my shoe and slide right in. No more tugging and pulling at the back of my shoe and almost no twisting of my foot. The first time I used it I was amazed what a difference it made. It feels sturdy. It’s made of plastic but it’s nice and ridged. As for ease of traveling, I don’t know how easy it will be to fit into a suitcase. It should fit in a large suitcase but I don’t know about a carry-on bag. I have not tried it yet. But as far as home use I’m impressed and plan to buy one for my sister.

I got this for my 90 year old mom who had been using a short telescoping rod with a sharp-edged small metal shoe horn at the end. It is long enough to use while sitting without pending over, and sturdy enough that it does not flex. The handle is especially nice for someone with hand mobility issues (like my mom) who can't grip tightly. You don't need to wrap your hand tightly around it - just need to put your hand through the opening. It snapped together easily and now hangs on her closet door. This one is so much easier to use, and little risk of tearing fragile skin while using it. We have other Vive products and I like them all!
