It's large enough so that I use it as an extended monitor at work - great brightness, crisp contrast and excellent text clarity. When I head into conference rooms to host in-person meetings with 10-16 attendees, I slip my VisionOwl monitor into it's provided protected, handled & thin carrying sleeve and easily relocate it/set it back up. Its integrated, steady and adjustable stand is perfect - and the larger-size monitor is such a help in my meetings. Then, when I host smaller my smaller in-person meetings/presentations with 2-3 attendees, I turn my monitor/face it towards them to provide enhanced presentations. BUT - the BEST part: VisionOwl's Customer Service... impressive! While I was registering for the free 2-year warranty and choosing my free accessory, I needed a bit of extra help, so I contacted their customer service... VisionOwl's customer service were not only extremely prompt - they were extremely helpful! They went out of their way to deliver Best-In-Class Customer support - for a great product. I am happy with this monitor as a second monitor for my MacBook Pro and PC. It is surprisingly simple and lightweight, and it seems reliable. I’ve been using the VisionOwl Portable Monitor as a second screen for both my MacBook Pro and a PC laptop, and it’s been exactly what I needed for a flexible, hot-desk setup. The biggest advantage is how effortless it is to plug-and-play with USB-C, no setup, no drivers, no friction. Within seconds, I have a clean dual-screen workspace wherever I am. It’s also very lightweight and easy to carry, which makes a huge difference when moving between desks or working on the go. Despite the portability, it feels solid and well-built. After debating in my mind for a few days on whether to pick one of the smaller monitors or this one, I picked this monitor. The main reason being the specifications and compatibility (besides the size, of course). My main use case is for having a second monitor when I am traveling. I have been using this monitor for a few days now and have been really liking it. The pro’s — easy to set up (all the cables are provided — and they seem to be good quality cables), crystal clear monitor, great refresh rate and not very strenuous on my eye. IOW, the monitor does live up to its specifications. Sure it is not as great as some of the monitors that you can buy but for my primary use case — portability and cost — it is wonderful. The con’s — the monitor as expected is not as portable as some of the smaller ones. However, I put it into my roller bag and don’t even need to pull it out when I go through TSA Precheck security (in US airports). That is good enough compromise for me. The most important part for me is the fact that the USB-C from my MacBook Pro is able to drive the monitor ok. The brightness is lower (as it should be) but when I am in a crunch, I don’t need to find a power outlet to get the second monitor going. This to me is the ultimate luxury in portability — a good compromise between portability and performance. I have not tested the audio on this monitor since my primary use case is work related. However, I am sure based on what I have seen so far, the sound quality would be adequate enough for what I get for the money. This one nice monitor. I've had about 40 flat panel monitors over the last 20 years. And this 23.8" portable from VisionOwl, which I'd never heard of before, just blew me away from the minute I opened the box. Everything was so neatly packaged and well protected. User manual is brief but sufficient and well put together. The two monitor cables included are good quality and notch above the pack. But the best part is the monitor itself. It's surprisingly heavy and sturdy. The kickstand is easy to use and swivels with nice resistance and confidence. The bottom edge of the monitor and kickstand each have super sticky pads on them that keeps the monitor secure on the table. You better lift the monitor if you want to move it as it does not willingly slide on the pads. For a 24" monitor the QHD resolution of 2560x1440 is just about perfect (for me at least) and will reproduce images without any added graininess. The monitor isn't cheap for a 24" QHD, even with a 180Hz refresh. But you get a quality confidence-inspiring sturdy portable travel monitor. And this is exactly what I need for my traveling where I'm planning on putting it into a 28" large suitcase using the excellent foam packaging the monitor came with. ... show more

This is a great monitor. It is very big for a portable monitor yet still easy to carry around. I love that it comes with its own case since it's not a standard size that you could buy a laptop sleeve for. I bought this to use as my main monitor for work when I am traveling. There is so much more screen real estate than on my 14 inch laptop. It also plays video very clearly. I have been very impressed with it so far. The kickstand is also very sturdy and it's much easier to use than portable monitors that have the fold over flap as a built-in stand. I have one of those and it falls over all the time. The audio quality is excellent, and appreciate the wider screen dimensions compared to others on the market. I'm an IT Pro since 1990 - yep, one of the first 10K to use America Online (go ahead - don't be shy, Google it). I've used many monitors over the last 36 years. This, however, is the BEST Portable Monitor by far. Crystal clear images (truth in manufacturing - what a pleasure) easy controls and easy to use, overall - a real pleasure pleasure in every way. Great and rapid technical service (e-mail) by people who care and are really thinking about the product so they can help you! My new and major productivity tool, easy connectivity, great HDMI and USB-C ports, rapid refresh rate and, AMAZING value for your money. In addition, if you take the few moments to register the product you get an automatic TWO-YEAR warranty. Just take a look at the Lake Louise photo I've included (mine BTW) - need I say more! Why did you pick this product vs others?: My review of the Vision Owl 18.5 Portable Monitor. The display capabilities of this monitor are excellent, and the colors are extremely vibrant. This monitor replaced my existing 15.6 portable monitor. The sound from the embedded speakers on the monitor is much louder than other portable monitors. A Bluetooth speaker is louder but the existing speakers on this monitor are audible, and the volume can be adjusted in the menu system. The setup was completed with only a single USB-C to USB-C cable for both power and display. All the required cables are shipped with the monitor and including a power adaptor which in my setup was not required. The built-in stand on the monitor enabled me to adjust the monitor in multiple display positions. The stand can be raised to the top of the monitor if you want to use the Vesa attachment. The monitor came with a very nice, padded travel case that has a second zip up sleeve attached to the side to store your cables, phone, power adaptor, etc. The case comes with a strap on the top of the case to allow easier carrying capabilities. The carrying case for the monitor is attractive and professional looking. The monitor is very thin, light to carry, and the perfect size for traveling with your laptop computer. Inside the box with the monitor are instructions that say that you can email them to register for a free 2-year warranty and a free accessory of your choice. It also includes a telephone number and an email address for support if you experience any problems. After I submitted the email for my free 2 year warranty, I received my choice of accessory which arrived three days later. In summary, this is a fantastic monitor with an extremely supportive customer support system that utilizes email and telephone responses.
