Years ago we used to buy men's slim-style reading glasses from Costco. They came in a metal tube about the size that would fit a cigar (when people would see the case and ask what it was for, we'd always say "may Cuban cigar"). Costco stopped carrying these several years ago, so when we were down to our final pair I searched Amazon and was pleased to find these. We thought they would be pretty much the same thing. When they arrived, I was shocked to see how small they were. Literally no more than 25% the size of my old Costco case. The plus side: - Although they have a clip, we rarely wear shirts with pockets so we slip the case into a jacket pocket or a jeans pocket. These are so small that they can fit in a pants pocket and are hardly noticeable, e.g. when we sit down. This is where the super small size is appreciated. - Although the lenses are small, they work fine for our usual uses such as reading restaurant menus or looking at sales tags or labels in the store. - Very lightweight, yet seem "sturdy enough" The negative side: - The thin wire frames sit on the bridge of the nose, and although not uncomfortable for small periods of time, they aren't nearly as comfortable as regular glasses for say reading a book or cell phone for more than 10 minutes. - My significant other says they don't look good on me. Meh. Bottom line: - If you are looking for (1) a small portable reader that you can stick in your pocket without worrying that it will get bent, and (2) want to pull them out to read something on the go, these will work fine.

Just don’t try to walk through walls, they don’t give you ghost-like abilities. 2. Cozy Compactness: Portability definitely gets a high-five here! You can conveniently tuck them away in your pocket and they disappear, just like your cash at a Christmas Sale. Can’t decide if it’s elf magic or simple engineering! 3. Superior Sight: They might be as tiny as Santa's helpers, but they give you the sight of an eagle on a reindeer hunt. It's like Christmas for your eyes! CONS: 1. Call Of Claus: My children refer to them as my Santa Claus glasses, and now, every time I put them on, I mysteriously feel the urge to shout "Ho Ho Ho!" Not helpful when you're in a Library. 2. Elfin Enigma: They may be too small for some faces. Unfortunately, I think my face didn't get the memo. If you have a generous face like mine, we’re stuck in The Land of Giants here, people! 3. Bought these for travel and ease of storage. Size is nice but quality is questionable. If you need something cheap for emergency use and throw away these are the ones for u.

Reading glasses are cheap. I keep a pair here and a pair there and there and there. But these are wonderful and protected when I'm on the go and out of the house. Lightweight and small enough to share a shirt pocket with a smart phone, they are there when you need them.

I have two pair of very slim readers like this from long ago and wanted more. What I did not realize was that mine have the little nose pads and these do not even though the same size. I like the size to look up and see over the top, but the nosepiece makes your nose sore and red if you use for reading or wear for very long. They are worth it to keep in purse to check prices and pink, blue and silver colors are nice, but they are just plain uncomfortable.
