  • Solid, stable, attractive and useful!
I couldn’t wait to organize my home office, which up to this point was largely in disarray. With so many different electronics that I use to make the day easier, I found myself constantly moving my alarm clock, computer, headsets, monitors, and all the other items that I like to keep handy. I went to several brick and mortars trying to pull ideas out that would work, but it just ended up being another piece to add to the mess. When I ordered this storage rack, my expectations were based on previous experiences I had working with the stuff you see on aisle 13 of the big blue box or the back cubby department at discount furniture stores. I had this conversation before, talking to people in the neighborhood, and in chat rooms. Everybody gets caught up not spending enough to do the job in the first place. The problem with that is, who has a ton of money to spend on things that aren’t standard and useful in life? The storage rack that you are considering buying (found elsewhere on this page) came in a box no bigger than one-sixth the size of the completed rack. When I started removing each piece, I was facing an intimidating amount of work, or at least I thought it would be a lot of work. It weighs a ton but that turned out to be a solid quality to this storage rack. Here is where you balance your buying decision. This product is completely well made. The wooden pieces are solid and well finished on the edges. The metal is sand blasted smooth, then baked with a good layer of black coating for looks, feel, and for durability. The remaining pieces in this box are the various plugs and pins, screws and assembly components. The price is completely in line with the product, if not a great price. You will, however have to give in to assembling this rack and it will take some time for you to complete it. The components are made of equal height and width pieces that are attached, anchored, pinned or bolted in place. The assembly is simple and can easily be completed without any complications. It is a very normal process that is similar to any type of assembly you find yourself tasked to complete. The instructions are simple and easy to follow. The metal pieces are very well made, extra sturdy, and look amazingly nice. So the give and take is, you save a ton of money for a finished product that easily sells for 4 times more than the cost. The 2 hours it takes to complete the furniture will make up for the low cost. Is it worth it? Most definitely. It is a superb product once assembled! It does not look like anything you used to buy in the past. It looks much, much nicer, as if you spent a ton of money on a high quality rack. I am completely satisfied with this product. The rack does not shake from side to side when heavy objects are placed on it. The front to back distribution of supports and reinforcements holding together a product slightly shorter than a yardstick act as a deterrent and adds much needed support for holding heavy objects. I will not use this furniture for storing albums as the name suggests. Instead, this rack looks so much like the ones I always saw in the bakery store’s display window, as I was growing up. Of course, this got my creative side going, all based on that window display. I could easily see this rack as a bakery rack that cooled the cakes and displayed todays bread! This rack is absolutely perfect for placing kitchen items that would normally be stored out of site, such as your stand up mixer, air fryers, toaster, bread boxes, you name it. After you add a few red and white checkered board towels, hang a nice apron off the side and complete your system with the vase filled with utensils, you may actually decide to open a bakery! The rack is a fantastic display piece that can easily be used for all sorts of practical, creative, and attractive uses! There may only be one hurdle in this project and that is starting it. The end result, however, will be cherished, used, and will adorn a part of your home the way you see fit. Me? I am busy watching dough raise so I can make some baguettes to put on my new bakery rack! ... show more

  • 100% pleased.
It arrived early and is possibly the best packaging I have seen to minimize damage. Every piece seems to have some sort of styrofoam (sheet or strip) to protect it. Additionally, the entire box is lined with protective styrofoam. When I opened the box and saw the 10 pages (5 front and back) of assembly schematics and noted it has 64 screws...I passed assembly on to my husband who is much more patient than I and has better screwdriver skills. He indicated the directions were thorough (every part was numbered), holes all lined up perfectly etc. I've included a pic of a couple of the instruction pages. Note the bottom corner of one shows 64 screws. Yep. Lots of screws. There were a couple extra but it still has a lot. This record rack is very sturdy and does not wobble despite it being so lightweight. I never intended to use it for record storage but placed a couple of LPs on it for the pic so one could see it does have the right dimensions for album storage. I have another record rack so have an idea about their storage and am confident this could hold about 200 single albums as indicated by the seller. I was a bit overzealous downsizing my home office desk space and have found I need more room for "stuff" so this will serve that purpose as seen in the pic. It is definitely is a multi purpose piece. It would make a great plant stand. My cats would not be able to shove the plants off the top shelves due to the wire mesh front (intended for holding albums in place as one flips through them). That said, I may end up using this as a record rack. We'll see. Many opportunities. I do hope it is eventually made with other finishes. I would like something less dark and less rustic in appearance. ... show more

  • Nice result, IF you are persistent enough to get through the assembly.
The assembly of this is a nightmare. It took me about 2 hours of frustration and re-reviewing my work before I finally got it together. The holes don't all line up well (well enough, but not well), and mine didn't come with the proper connectors in all the legs to put the feet on it (see picture). I'm a stubborn person though, so I persisted and got it together, and the end result is actually a nice looking sturdy record stand. I'll have to buy some felt pads for the feet or it will scratch my floors and screech like nails on a chalkboard, which is another inconvenience. My big take-away is that it was a huge pain, but still a pretty nice product. Would I recommend it to others? I honestly can't say yes OR no.... I do really like the finished look, but the assembly really was so much of a pain that I wouldn't want to have to do it ever again, so I'm undecided on whether it was worth it. Best I can rate it is 3 stars. ... show more

  • Multi Purpose
Vinyl record holder and storage rack took awhile to put together. All the pieces and hardware were marked well but the instructions were difficult to follow as there were no written directions, just visual assembly. The rack came with a screwdriver and allen wrench to use for assembling, however, that process would have taken forever so I made use of my electric screwdriver which made a quicker, easier job of it. Once it was together it seemed sturdy enough, described as holding 200 vinyl albums or 200 pounds. It’s made of metal with wood shelves and metal mesh to support items in the rack. It’s a functional rack that has many uses. Looks good. Would recommend. ... show more
