I’m not a fan of the original version because that was a total patchouli bomb that was saturated with floral notes. This version is more pleasant, lighter than the original. There is a strong synthetic sweetness. Despite the name, peony is not strong. It is overpowered by this other sweet smell that is slightly fruity. However this could be headache inducing for those who are sensitive. I love peony and was excited for this. Unfortunately it fell short. It is too heady. Flowerbomb Pretty Peony is an interesting edition because it doesn't really smell like Flowerbomb or peony to me. Peony tends to smell fresh, tart, and rosy, and I get none of that here. I get a strong, candy-sweet strawberry & vanilla combo that smells just like Strawberry Creme Savers candy. There's a floral undertone that turns very powdery on my skin as well, but it's mostly sweet strawberries and vanilla cream. I don't like the powdery floral facet but the sweet notes absolutely won me over and convinced me that I needed a big bottle. I love how strong and long lasting the strawberry and vanilla notes are. The sweetness makes it feel very fun, flirty, and playful. I get a lot of compliments when I wear this, and people asking what I'm wearing.
