I really love this monitor. I have been using a VX2770 for many years now and this one is very similar. The only thing is the backlight bleed is HORRIBLE. All four corners. It's so noticeable it's impossible to ignore. I decided to exchange it to try to get a unit without backlight bleed. Another reviewer stated he exchanged five times to get a good monitor. Update 12/13/2018: Recv'd my first replacement from Amazon - this unit is completely broken. Oddly is has no backlight bleed, but it looks like someone stabbed the monitor with a screwdriver or dropped it onto a point. The entire screen is unworking/damaged. Third time is a charm I hope? 12/18/2018 Update: Received my THIRD monitor...and while not broken - it has significant backlight bleed that is not fixable. At this point I realize this unit is not a good choice if you ever plan to have dark backgrounds (photo or video editing, games etc) The only redeeming thing in this whole process was Amazon's ease of exchange and return policy...even though a rep misinformed me, Amazon took care of me with credits. I just wish I had a properly working monitor. Will likely return this one. ... show more

Maybe it was a bad batch. But the 1st monitor had extreme backlight bleed problem, mostly on the left side (see pictures). I ordered a replacement but just like I predicted the second one was no better. It had slightly better controlled light on the right but the left side was even worse. And no, you don't see it if you're watching something bright on the screen. And YES you see it with anything dark, like a screenshot from youtube video I included. It's bad during the day, it's even worse at night. Any kind of gaming or dark videos make this monitor a nightmare. The only positive thing about this monitor, well not the actual monitor, but the packaging is extremely simple and makes returning it a relative breeze. That's really the only good thing about this product. DONT BUY Shame on you Viewsonic. ... show more

If the description would have said it was a GLOSSY screen I wouldn't have bought it. I like seeing the things that are SUPPOSED to be on the screen, not things that are REFLECTED on it. Utterly idiotic way to make a monitor, it's nothing more than a bad mirror with a faint picture projected on it. If you have ANY light in the room the monitor is in, don't buy this monitor. Any REMOTELY dark part of the screen acts as a mirror. For reference, the first picture is a darker scene in a tv show, with a PERFECT reflection of me and the windows. The second shows it with a more standard word open window, and the background picture of the moon during the lunar eclipse with the stars around it.... and of course a PERFECT reflection of the two windows in my office. The third shows that even with a bright background (word full screen) you STILL see the windows and my white teapot reflected clearly. So for some reason, a problem we haven't had since we got rid of TUBES in our monitors, Viewsonic decided to build BACK IN for no sensible reason whatsoever. What an utter waste of time. I bought their 32 inch curved monitor at Christmas and it's great. This thing is garbage, again unless you use it in a cave or completely dark room. Sending it back. ... show more

Quick Pro/Cons: Has speakers, but no volume control. Has multiple video inputs, but no rotation control. Came with HDMI and power cable, monitor is sleek, stand is elegant and sturdy. Standard shipping was very fast. My implementation is dual-monitors, suspended from the ceiling. (Upside-down). Lack of rotation control means: No ROKU, No 'Casting'. PC is required for video; output must be capable of 180° rotation video signal output. Very happy with with build quality and packaging. Impeccable quality control. I LOVE this monitor. I love it out the box. I did not have to make any adjustments. I am only using it for work, no gaming. I just got it so I have not tested anything else. I will update if my opinion changes. The monitor is very sleek and opened up so much room on my desktop. I am planning on mounting it in the next couple of days. Having the ability to mount it is the reason I purchased this monitor. I find that the stand is sturdy and supports the monitor very well. I have not tested the sound yet.
