Other reviewers here have noted all the pros about this monitor, I will just add that 1-) the adjustable stand is especially easy to use and useful for long hours and avoiding neck pain and 2-) reminder that they ship only a display port/USB cable and an HDMI cable with it even though monitor is USB -C enabled. if you are running Mojave 10.14 or later the adapters for display port and HDMI simply will not work, the mac book will never see the monitor. You *must* get a USB-C 3.1 to C cable. Then you can just plug it all in. Also need to add a shout out to Anne at Amazon (complimentary) tech support for helping figure all this out by coordinating with ViewSonic because it wasn't documented anywhere at the point at which I was trying to do it. To start, let me reiterate what's already been shared. This monitor will only work with a Mac laptop with a USB-C 3.1 connector. I originally tried using my USB-C charging cable that I use to power my laptop and that DOES NOT WORK. I went to the Apple Store to buy a Belkin USB-C 3.1 cable. I told the Apple Store clerk I needed this cable for use with a Monitor and they tried convince me I would need a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C cable instead. I ended up buying both and they both work, but I will be returning the Thunderbolt cable because it was $10 more expensive (And .2 meters shorter ). I should gone with my gut, now I have another errand to run. Just get the Belkin USB-C 3.1 and the monitor is plug and play! I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of this monitor, after adjusting the Color/Brightness/Contrast I've got it matching my Mac laptop Retina display very nicely. I will say, the brightness on the laptop can go maaaybe a hair brighter than the monitor, but it's barely noticeable. Also the sharpness on the monitor looks great, but it's not quite as clear as the laptop. That means this probably isn't the best monitor for high end detailed Video/Graphic design work, but for everything else this monitor is excellent. The aspect ratio on the monitor is a little wider than the laptop so you have to deal with a tiny sliver of letterboxing on the laptop. (You can also opt for vertical letterboxing on the monitor, but this doesn't look as good). Other great features: The USB-C 3.1 cable will charge your laptop while also presenting the display. There are an additional 3 standard USB ports. I've tested out the usb connections and the devices I've tested have worked perfectly with my laptop. This is a great bonus. Also, the stand was so easy to set up. The monitor snaps into place and the base screws into the neck with a single flat head screw (But it has a twist handle so you don't even need a screw driver. The stand is heigh adjustable and also rotates about its vertical axis and tilts up and down. The best part is it also rotates about its depth axis so you can work on projects in Portrait rather than landscape orientation. Perfect for writing. The speakers on this thing are awful, but I can't imagine anyone would buy a monitor for audio quality. Grab a pair of external speakers and you'll be set. Overall, this a great deal for a very good 1440p monitor with some useful additional features. I recommend it for use with a mac laptop for anything other than high end video/graphic work. I purchased this as a second monitor and after a couple months I have had zero issues. Build quality is great, as well as the viewing angles for vertical usage. The trend with many companies is to produce these big monitors with small resolutions. This creates a visually disturbing pixel density that I personally find unpleasant (FHD@32"=68.84 PPI vs WQHD@24"=122.38 PPI). It's nice to see companies still producing "normally-sized" monitors with larger resolutions. The stability and mobility is great. Large swivel radius, tilt, and height adjustment for finding that 'sweet-spot.' The handle for movement is a very nice addition. The only thing to be wary of is the fact that this monitor DOES NOT support refresh rates over 60hz at 2k resolution. But for some reason the product description has an eye-catching final bullet point of "75 hertz." (I wanted to take a star off for that shady advertising, but it really is a great monitor) ... show more

    • Excellent USB-C Monitor but you still need external speakers

Excellent monitor for the price range. The USB Type C connection is very reliable and allows you to connect a USB-C laptop with only 1 cable and if you are using it for a non-USB-C device, you can connect with HDMI or DP and also connect the USB Type B cable to activate the USB Type A hub on the monitor. The USB hub is great if you have multiple devices you switch between like work and personal laptops and want them to instantly connect to other USB devices (like a docking station). I keep my USB wireless adapters for the mouse and keyboard plugged in the monitor and just switch the laptops when needed. I use it with my HP Elite X2 and by connecting it with the USB-C cable, I get the following: 1) Charges the laptop and keeps it at 100% while using it. 2) Delivers HD video and audio to the monitor without the need for HDMI or DP cables. 3) Activates the USB hub in the monitor (3 additional USB Type A ports for the computer) without the need to connect the USB Type B cable. My only disappointment is the sound. The built in speakers are so weak that you can barely hear anything. So just pretend they don't exist and get external speakers or a soundbar. ... show more
