This replaced my old 2nd monitor and didn't need to be anything great. I'm surprised how many features are packed with such a cheap monitor and how good it looks. I didn't intend to game on it but after reading claims that it was a bad monitor that looks awful when playing games, I decided to give it a try. Price aside, it plays games just fine. It's nothing great but there's nothing wrong with it that takes away from the game or distracts you. If you're looking for something cheap to game on thats 1080p, I doubt there's a better value. If your PC can handle a higher resolution, I would see if they have a model to match because the resolution is the only downside I can see if you're looking for a budget monitor to game on. I needed a monitor that was viewable from a few feet away. It's got a great picture and the curved screen is a nice touch. It's got slots for 3 monitors - 2 HDMI and 1 display port. No HDMI cables but it comes with a DP cable. I have another computer hooked to this monitor so I can switch between them. No instruction manual included and the setup instructions are terrible. I had to download the user manual to figure out how to power it up and use the control panel. My only complaint is with the stand: 1) It slides into a slot on the back and you have to force it to snap into place. Otherwise it's very wobbly 2) the stand tilts vertically which is nice but it cannot be adjusted up or down. It sits too high for my needs so I'll need to install a wall mount at the right height. Another minor complaint is that the input slots are mounted vertically which helps to save space behind the monitor but makes it more difficult to plug in the cables. ... show more

Upgraded from a 23" ViewSonic that was about 10 years old. I bought 2 of the 24" curved monitors for a dual setup. For the price point these are perfect. My GPU has 3 different outputs: 1 HDMI, 1 Display Port, 1 DVI. I had to make some adjustments to the contrast and color on one monitor to help match them, but I believe the difference may be due to the HDMI vs Display Port. I do not game on the desktop like I used to, but ran Minecraft on one screen and it looked perfectly fine. I would say these would hold up well for an average gamer and would be perfect for general home and office use. The price for for nearly 42" width of screen is less than I paid for the 23" years ago. ... show more

ViewSonic is a longtime brand in the PC World and I bought it largely on the brand name's past. A 4 star opinion "should" say "it meets my needs". I think a 5 star review "should" say of the product that "it EXCEEDS" my expectations, in this case few products meet my 5 star bar and a four star review is fair for this one, here's why. THE GOOD Large enough for most uses, sharp text, one Display Port or DP (not available on many other brands) and two HDMI inputs make it usable on many current and legacy computers, as well as game consoles and DVD players etc. Plus it has brightness to spare and it's fairly priced. The "V" shaped foot of the mount covers only the space needed to make the stand sturdy leaving space under it for desk doodads. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE WEIRD The color point was NOT adjustable to give a pure white color driven from my from my HP workstation's internal DP port no way, no how at any brightness (even the obscenely high initial power on settings) where my last monitor had no such issues. This is curious because the monitor's self driven screens and menus ARE a bright white! So to further debug it I installed my ATI Radeon 540 video card with a DP output and voila! it's like my whites jumped out from the screen like I used whitening toothpaste on it! This goes to show that what you see may not be what is possible and 100% confidence in the PC brand may not be warranted! Minus 1 star for HP's internal DP color translation table :-) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE NOT SO GOOD (but not BAD) When first turned on the brightness and contrast were BOTH set at at the factory at 100%! I can't imagine anyone needing or wanting to be blasted with a screen so bright. To make matters worse in a quest to make the screen as borderless as possible the controls are vertically arranged in the rear necessitating adjustment in the blind and by feel only. ... show more

There's not much to say, I am very happy with the Monitor. From a 27" to this one and can't believe the difference in size. Color is great out of the box. Games look great, no ghosting at all. I was missing the power supply, but I contacted ViewSonic and they 2 dayed the power supply to me. This monitor worked for about 3 months, then we started seeing "No Signal" message on the screen even though it had worked fine the day before. Called Viewsonic customer support, they tried to troubleshoot, but nothing would work, so they had us send it to Viewsonic for refurbishment. Received the refurbished unit and it worked for about 1-2 months, then same "No Signal" message and not able to use it. So we called customer service again, this time they had us send it back and replaced the unit...which worked for about 1-2 WEEKS and now it intermittently works. They want to blame it on the computer - but this happened on two separate computers: a laptop and a desktop (cube). Save yourself $$$ and aggravation, DO NOT BUY!!! ... show more
