I'm 80 years old and I needed assistance in lifting the tailgate on my trailer. I didn't have a lot of money but what a nice lift this was. I had installed another one in the past on a different trailer. Easy install I recommend it

Great product for not being “name brand”. Installed perfectly on my 6.3’x8’ utility trailer with instructions that included pictures. I would suggest buying the end caps that are sold separately. Knocked it down to 4 stars because one of the two I purchased came damaged. Unsure if it was manufacturer or amazon shipping.

I bought 2 of the individual lift assists because at the time it was less expensive than the cost of the pair. The price was very low compared to the Gorilla brand but looked identical to me (except orange instead of yellow). I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the instructions are pretty well done, and the engineering design is great. It’s tough to figure out exactly where you want to put the cable on your ramp gate before you start drilling, but the included hooks help. If you’re going to install two, I would do it simultaneously so you’ll know the amount of tension it will have with both pulling at the same time. I did them one at a time, and I have it set up pretty tight (maybe too tight) but when I lift up my ramp gate now (which has to weight 100lbs, easy) I can do it with one finger until it gets to the top. A real game changer and back saver.

The media could not be loaded. I wish a had bought these 15 years ago. Definitely a back saver after a long day working. Instructions were exact, no guess work. The only part you need to determine is the height on the gate, I placed mine about 1/2 above cable s hook connection (you will understand after you read the instructions). 1 hour and 15 minutes start to finish install. Word of advice: buy a NEW 1/2 inch drill bit. You dint want to use the old one you have in the tool box. Definitely recommend
