Unfortunately while the ‘demo’ function is very cool, this toy has broken within about two weeks of use. The first battery hasn’t even run out of charge yet and the motor doesn’t work anymore.

1. The scoop would not open and close enough to allow you to actually scoop dirt. 2. The scoop was metal, but the gears were plastic and in five minutes he was stripped. 3. Battery life? No idea since it lasted five minutes before the gears stripped. Kids will tear this machine up. Remember Tonka Toys, Metal built and sturdy. That is what this should have been.

This excavator is not as big as I expected in terms of size. But...It's huge in terms of fun! My son and I like to play in the sandbox every once in a while. And this thing can not only picked up sand, but plays music, have lights, a sprayer and the turret turns around easily. The remote is ok...The bucket is metal!
