I love this desk! Firstly I should mention that the desk came in SIX boxes, not 7 like some of the other reviews and articles around the internet have mentioned. The boxes do have numbering on them (e.g. 1 of 6), so they must have listened to some of the feedback from customers about being confused on the multiple boxes being shipped. I had no missing parts, but there were a few of the larger metal pieces which had been damaged during shipping. I had to HAMMER them back into shape, Tony Stark style when he made the Mark I armor in a cave with a box of scraps. Start to finish, it took me around 11 hours to put the desk together spread across two days. I was able to build the desk by myself, but it would definitely have been easier/quicker with 2 people. The printed instructions which came with the desk were on regular printer paper, and the ink they used was extremely dark, so much so that the images were not clear enough to see how the pieces were supposed to be oriented, and I ended up having to take some of the parts apart again to reorient them due to the poor pictures. I didn't realize until about 80% way through completing the desk that there was an PDF version of the instructions that was easily visible, so I'd recommend printing that off yourself before starting. Also, the instructions had minor inconsistencies, like some steps saying I'd need to use 7 screws, but only 5 screws being used due to the additional drill holes not being present (it seemed like they were intentionally left out since they were omitted on both sides of the desk). Overall, the quality of the parts and desk is really good. I'm very happy with the desk, and was able to get it at a steep discount. I'd recommend considering your staining options before assembling the desk, because once it's together you are not going to want to take it back apart!

The desk is nice when it works. The electronics has failed twice now. The first time the control box went bad. wouldnt elevate or lower and the lights wouldn't work.. Customer support was great on the first support ticket but very very slow. They did send me new electronics. I installed the new electronics according to their instructions. System worked fine for about 30 minutes then the lights went out again and wont work. So far the system still elevates and lowers. I Contacted Customer support for the second issue. I have not heard anything from customer service yet, it's been about a week and a half now. I had a contact in customer support from first service ticket. That person isn't responding either. Which is odd because they had been very responsive. Buyer beware. Customer service not very good if you have any issues. Going to See what my options are to return the unit.

Poorly packaged. Drill holes don't align. For nearly $2000, you would expect a nice product. Assembly instructions are wrong. Step 1 included a damaged part, center beam was bent, nut was recessed too far into the center surface board so could screw it to the metal frame. Called and left a voicemail. Didn’t get a response. Called again later, Claudia never actually submitted my ticket and stopped responding to me. Called a third time and submitted via Amazon CS. Waiting to see if they’ll send the correct replacements. Sounds like they want to blame damaging on shipping but it’s their fault for not packing properly, welding incorrectly, and assembling other parts wrong.

The desk is unique, uses quality materials, and looks amazing. It is a head-turner, if you want that, but it is also functionally superior to a lot of alternatives (all much cheaper, of course) in how it combines levels and useable work surfaces. The bamboo looks and feels top-notch. The metal parts are sturdy. All the required components are included, including quality wrenches and screwdriver. The problem is that this desk requires 2 people to assemble. The instructional video shows one person doing it in 7 minutes--which is very misleading. It took me 4 days to assemble this desk, and tracking back to other users who reviewed this desk online, that seems to be about how long it took others. The black and white manual is frustrating. The photos are too dark, which makes looking at the assembly difficult. The manual's pages aren't stapled, so you will repeatedly get lost when pages are out of order. Thankfully there is a PDF manual in color, and that was more more useful. The manual and assembly video do not coincide. The video shows different steps. Eventually I simply could not get the bamboo surfaces to align, and I had no idea why. I worked on this for 2 days, emailed the company, spoke to them on the phone, and eventually was told to make sure all the bolts are untightened and loose throughout the assembly process. Even then, it took a lot of muscle and luck to finally get the pieces to fit. Two people were required to assemble this desk, and unfortunately I didn't have that option. But...despite the constant frustration of building the desk, it is fabulous. I would not have been nearly as happy with an alternative. The desk does take up a lot of room, so just beware, and measure your area before buying. Then again...it's a very expensive desk, and it's a ludicrous luxury purchase. So, if you have the ability to buy the desk and are not put off by the difficulty, it's a solid purchase.

i just got it set up today and i like it so far but it does need to be stained to look nice. good amount of room for my gaming stuff but would have like it to be a full flat top so i can move things around easier. when get it built some of the metal pieces where twisted, some hole didn't line up for the wood and you'll need a drill to make the screws that go into the wood easier. now i just need stain and modify it to have a foot rest.
