I love this backpack and am really considering using it as a purse (from wallet, to bandages, to epipens, to books -- as a mom I have to be prepared for all eventualities with a fully stocked, magical purse that evidently has an undetectable extension charm per my kids). ✅It is very lightweight and lovely, and I was really thrilled to see that it is actually made from recycled nylon but it is a soft as cotton and so lightweight (at least until I stuff it full). I absolutely love the Vera Bradley bag interiors -- so bright and original and unique, they just make me happy. ✅The trolley strap on the back is also a great addition and so convenient for when the family is lugging everything around during travel. ✅So much space and organization options: The overall size of this bag is just a little smaller than your typical backpack (photos for comparison to my torso -- I am 5'5"), but inside it expands and holds so much. There are 4 external zippered compartments - 2 smaller/mid-size front bottom, 2 main full-size compartments (1 in the back that is slimmer for a laptop and then the one that makes of most of the bag). Inside 2 of the compartments there are numerous slip pockets and another zippered compartment for secure storage and the ability to organize so you aren't searching for items in a bottomless pit of a bag. ✅Cup/bottle holders actually are practical: Each end of the bag has a bottle holder pocket and I am really happy to report that they easily hold a regular sized soda bottle or an insulated cup. These are not just for show and aren't just for the skinniest of item only. Each one also has a little drawstring/clamp closure so you can secure thinner bottles or items (think umbrella) or secure smaller items in the side pockets if you aren't using them for drinks. So well thought out and practical!! 100% lives up to the Vera Bradley name, is beautiful and practical with well thought out details, and I am thrilled with it.

I recently got the Vera Bradley backpack in the Pumice Stone color, and I love it! The color is a beautiful cream earth tone that’s perfect for any season. The interior has a colorful, vibrant pattern that complements the outer color really well, adding a fun pop when you open it up. The material is soft and pliable, which makes the bag comfortable to carry—it’s not rigid or stiff at all. It’s also spacious enough to fit a laptop or large tablet, plus your makeup and other essentials. BASICS + COLOR. This is a very lightweight backpack. It's soft and roomy. The color tends more towards "olive" more than "golden", but it's very close to the color in the photos in the online listing. The zippers are YKK, and they open and close very smoothly, super quick. INTERNAL FABRIC. The floral pattern on the inside is one of my favorite details. You get that pattern on every interior space and pocket, include the side pockets, which I wasn't sure of based on the photos. I was very pleased to see that the pattern showed up there, too. COMPARTMENTS AND POCKETS. There are four compartments besides the two side pockets. The frontmost and backmost compartments don't have internal pockets. The backmost one seems intended for a small laptop. Since that one extends all the way down to the bottom of the backpack instead of being suspended an inch or so above it internally, if you drop the backpack to the ground, a laptop would feel the impact. The main compartment and the front pocket both have some internal pockets, mostly for pens, phones, and other small items. The main compartment has one zippered pocket that would fit a phone or passport. It can also fit a Kindle - basically anything smaller than the Scribe, based on the current models. STRAPS. The straps adjust in length fairly easily, but they don't have strap keepers, so they hang down loose. This is especially noticeable if you have them adjusted up tight for your torso, since a lot of material hangs down. There is no chest strap, so if you add a lot of weight to the backpack, you'll definitely feel it in the shoulders. FULLY LOADED. When the backpack is weighted down or fully loaded, the bottom doesn't lay flat but rather leans away from the body, which can add to the stress on the shoulders. Although there is no webbing on the straps to add a clip-on chest strap, there are some types that you can get that secure with elastic or by being tightened. CRAFTMANSHIP. No loose strings, no issues with craftmanship, no problems with the zippers or plastic pieces on the straps.

This Vera Bradley bag in Pumice Stone is great! It's super soft - it feels luxurious. It wipes clean easily, so no worries about the stylish light color. It also matches my belt bag which is a win. The inside has the signature Vera style pattern which makes it easier to find things. The laptop pocket fits my laptop easily (14") but would also hold a larger one as well. The main pocket is very roomy and deep and the front pocket keeps essential things handy. Two side pockets stretch nicely for large water bottles and/or an umbrella. Great bag!
