I put this on a sun dolphin American 12 plastic john boat, had to use the hooked pieces to keep the seat from moving since the benches are curved and plastic without the hooked part the chair would move around and would come off of the bench with little to no force. To install the seat base to the boat you need to make a tool to be able to tighten down the wing nuts, take a piece of PVC pipe or preferably metal pipe and cut a slit in it and you can use that to tighten it down. I wouldn't recommend this if you plan on taking the seat on and off a bunch but works ok for my situation. ... show more

Works fine clamping to a hard bench seat. Issues might arise depending on size of seat attaching as the adjusting bolts might protrude out from under the sea that can scrape on legs.. Solution is cut the wing nut side adjusting bolts to size after a test install to mark the cuts. Except for 2 grey bolt blocks everything is Hard Magnetic Attraction metal so these need coating to prevent rust. Ive used these temporary before on hard bench passenger seats and they are convenient to eliminate drilling though these include a 2 fasterers that can hook on the seat clamp bar and be drilled to the vertical bench seat wall to hold or prevent clamps from loosening and lifting up (different).. I figure tighten the clamps harder... never had an Issue before though what angles you are clamping to could be an issue.. Coating is Good with a Rubbery Type consistancy on clamp hardware. Swivel on seat is not free spinning loose (Some resistance) but easy to turn when seated. Sturdy when seated on and all weight is on the grey non magnetic alloy 4 post legs which could mar unless padded. Price is good. ... show more
