I installed these on the cooler lifts on my boat. The older ones, about 20 years old, do not show one bit of corrosion. These however are showing a bit out corrosion after a month. If you install these in a corrosive environment, try to retrofit your existing SS to use on these lifts.

I've purchased 2 sets of these in the last year to hold open a 20 lb door and both sets (4 total) have failed already. The most recent set was installed in May and they failed 2 months later. It may be the heat as they are outside but they are out of the weather otherwise.
