    • Hit or miss, but good beginner shoe

The first pair I received were defective. There was something loose within the inside of the shoe (before I even installed whatever you call the bracket part to the shoe.) the bracket pieces were very loose on the shoes, and one fell off by my 2nd or 3rd use. I decided to exchange them for another pair. The issue with the loose part of the shoe has not existed with this second pair. The brackets are not AS easily loosened as before, but still loosen pretty easily. The first pair had to be fixed after every use and still would not fully tighten. This new pair you can go probably 5 uses without needing to tighten them. (I suppose I could go longer without tightening them now as well but now I’m paranoid I’d lose a piece again if I didn’t. Overall a comfortable shoe, fit true to my normal shoe size for me. Easy on/off. I think it’s a good shoe for someone starting out that doesn’t want to invest big money in shoes. Just be careful that you get a decent quality pair. Quality control isn’t there…. Was given equipment with the 2nd pair that I wasn’t with the 1st…. And if the brackets aren’t connecting to the shoe right you’ll get stuck to the bike (like me.) only a few weeks in with the new pair, but so far so good…. ... show more

I liked that the clips came with shoes easy to assemble but be aware a 39 European sizing is usually a 7 and they call it 7.5

    • Shoe Runs Small - even compared to cycling shoes (which generally run small) -- updated

This cycling shoe runs small. I wear a 9.5 in Pearl Izumi, and this was a 9.5. But even measuring it on the sole, you could see it was about 1/2 inch smaller than the Pearl Izumi, which runs small itself. I wanted to go up to a 10, but there were none available. So I am trying a 10.5 and I think that might work fine. So, I wear a 8.5 - 9 in regular shoes. I did get the 10.5, and they fit well. Maybe slightly too big on the left foot, but much better than the 9.5 I ordered. The shoes are comfortable and the clip on cleats work great. Overall, I say go bigger -- maybe a size to size and a half bigger. Shoes are lightweight and breathable. It is a much more pleasant experience than my Peloton shoes or the Pearl Izumi that I purchased separately. ... show more
