Not recommended for extremely rainy region (like the Amazon rainforest) cause the wet pocket is the only place where stuff can be placed so they won’t get wet, but the pocket is intended for keeping wet stuff from getting everything else wet. I’m satisfied with the amount of things that fit inside the bag. The straps are a great feature as they allow one to condense the bag. I especially liked the straps located above the water bottle pockets. The reusable water bottle I carried was thin so it would fall out if not for the strap, which secured it in place. When hiking it sucks to lose your source of water. It’s also really cool how it folds into its self. While this backpack is really great, my experience with it would have been a lot better if it had been water proof. ... show more

I purchased as a "daypack" for a week long camping/hiking trip in the mountains. This bag was PERFECT. It held everything I wanted to carry plus some. It got tossed here and there, dropped on the ground, rained on, etc. and still looks brand new. It rained quite a bit so the water proof pouch was a definitely plus. Though the rest of the items in the bag stayed pretty dry too. First Aid kit, extra set of clothes, hoodie, light jacket, 2 flashlights, several different pocket knives, pen/pencil/paper, bug spray/bug bracelets, sunscreen, 2 ponchos, fire starter, compass, whistle, hat, sunglasses, meds, travel size toiletries (shampoo/conditioner/toothbrush/paste/deodorant/gold bond), snacks, microfiber towel, playing cards, compact camping chair and large water bottle. I think I forgot some things, but it was alot packed in there and it was comfortable to carry every day. After the trip I hand washed it in the kitchen sink with some Dawn dish soap, hung dry and packed it up for the next trip. Literally still looks brand new. Highly recommend. Going to buy another one to keep in my truck with emergency supplies. ... show more

When I saw that it folded up into a pocket, I was thinking it would be very light weight material. Not so! This is a heavier material than I expected. I bought the backpack, small jogging fanny pack for training treats, and overnight weekend case all matching in the Blue Leaf pattern to go with the rolling hot pink and black duffle bag on wheels so I can travel a little easier with my dog. I can hardly wait to see how the others appear! My 11 inch lap top fits perfectly and is inside the backpack for the picture! ... show more

I've only taken this backpack on "day" hikes. It's really all I intend to use it for and I have only a few things to pack inside of the pack. One thing I noticed is the side water bottle "pockets" hold a plastic bottle of water ok, not a snug fit. Be sure to take the pack off slowly or the bottles will fly out of the pockets. Is versatile, is a good design the only problem I found is that is too flexible, too soft. Not that the material is weak, it is sturdy but if you put just few things in it since it doesn't have a hard structure it is sometimes difficult to search for things.
