Coming from farms located in the south of Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul), it undergoes an innovative tanning process where no chrome, heavy metals or dangerous acids are involved. By simplifying the tanning process, the use of chemicals and energy is limited, the use of water is reduced by about 40% and the use of salt by 80%. After tanning, the water is recyclable.

I am in LOVE with these shoes! They are not only cute and stylish, but ethically made and better for the planet. I took advice from other reviews and ordered a size down. I am usually a 7.5/8 and ordered a 7, and they fit perfectly. The other reviews made me think that the shoes wouldn't be comfortable, but I actually totally disagree. I find them very comfortable and I am surprised so many people had issues. Though the tongue and leather were at first a little stiff, like any shoe, they just needed to be broken in. Also, when I first received the shoes, I made sure to loop the laces through the little slit in the tongue. That helps the tongue stay in place and not rub up against your ankles. I can't remember the last time I've tried on such uncomfortable, stiff shoes. I'm genuinely shocked most reviews are saying the opposite. The tongue is too long and HARD and digs into my heal. That alone makes it uncomfortable, but on top of that, it's just a very stiff shoe. I was excited because this brand came highly recommended - but I'll never buy another again.
